6. Setup
6.1. Charging the Device
Both the transmitter and receiver units are equipped with built-in 3.7V 2000mAh lithium batteries. Before initial use, ensure both units are fully charged.
- Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the charging port on both the receiver and transmitter units.
- Plug the other end of the cable into a suitable USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
- The charging indicator light on each unit will illuminate during charging and typically change color or turn off when fully charged.
- A full charge provides approximately 10 hours of continuous use for each unit.

6.2. Preparing the Transmitter
- Ensure the signal line is securely attached to the transmitter reel.
- Verify that the probe at the end of the signal line is intact and clean.
- Turn on the transmitter unit using its power button. The indicator light should confirm it is active.
7. Operating Instructions
7.1. General Operation
- Insert Transmitter: Carefully feed the signal line with the probe into the pipe where the blockage is suspected. Push the line until resistance is met, indicating the location of the obstruction.
- Activate Receiver: Turn on the handheld receiver unit.
- Adjust Sensitivity: Use the sensitivity knob on the receiver to adjust the detection range. Start with a lower sensitivity and gradually increase it to narrow down the signal source.
- Scan for Signal: Move the receiver along the exterior of the pipe or wall. The signal indicator lights will illuminate, and an audible tone will be emitted from the speaker when the receiver detects the signal from the probe. The strongest signal indicates the probe's exact location.
- Pinpoint Blockage: Once the signal is strongest, mark the location. This indicates the position of the probe and, consequently, the blockage.
7.2. Application Examples
The detector is versatile and can be used for various pipe materials and scenarios:

- Metal Pipe Detection: Locate blockages in metal plumbing systems.
- PVC Pipe Detection: Identify clogs in PVC drainage or water supply lines.
- Cement Wall Clogging: Detect obstructions within pipes embedded in cement walls.
- Heating Pipe Detection: Trace and diagnose issues in underfloor or wall-mounted heating pipes.
- Concrete Wall Detection: Useful for general pipe tracing behind concrete structures.
The device offers a signal penetration depth of up to 50cm, allowing for detection through various materials. Using the self-developed smart chip, the sensor provides clear and reliable readings.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the receiver and transmitter units with a soft, dry cloth. If the signal line or probe becomes dirty, clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the signal line is neatly reeled back into the transmitter unit.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, charge the units regularly, even if not in frequent use. Avoid completely draining the batteries before recharging.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the signal line and probe for any signs of wear, cuts, or damage. Replace if necessary to ensure accurate operation.
9. Troubleshooting
- No Signal Detection:
- Ensure both the transmitter and receiver units are powered on and fully charged.
- Increase the sensitivity on the receiver unit.
- Verify the probe is correctly inserted into the pipe and the signal line is not damaged.
- Check for strong electromagnetic interference in the vicinity.
- Weak Signal:
- The probe might be too deep or the pipe material too dense. Try adjusting sensitivity.
- Ensure the receiver is held close to the pipe's surface.
- Recharge both units.
- Device Not Turning On:
- Ensure the batteries are charged. Connect to a charger and wait a few minutes before attempting to power on again.
- If the issue persists, contact customer support.
10. User Tips
- Gradual Sensitivity Adjustment: When searching for a blockage, start with a lower sensitivity setting on the receiver and gradually increase it as you get closer to the signal source. This helps in pinpointing the exact location more accurately.
- Marking the Path: For long or complex pipe runs, it can be helpful to mark the approximate path of the pipe on the wall or floor as you trace it, even before finding a blockage. This provides a clearer understanding of the pipe layout.
- Environmental Factors: Be aware that very thick or metal-reinforced concrete walls, as well as high humidity, can slightly reduce the signal penetration depth. Adjust your scanning technique accordingly.
- Probe Protection: While the probe is waterproof, avoid forcing it through extremely tight or sharp bends in pipes to prevent damage to the signal line.
