2. Getting Started
2.1. Getting to Know Your M3
Familiarize yourself with the physical components and controls of your MECHEN M3 MP3 Player.

- Volume +: Increase volume.
- Volume -: Decrease volume.
- Power ON/OFF: Turn the device on or off.
- TF Card Slot: Insert a Micro SD card for expanded storage.
- Type-C: USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
- Headphone Jack: 3.5mm audio output for wired headphones.
- Reset: Small pinhole for resetting the device.
2.2. Basic Controls
- Switching On: Tap the Power button for 3 seconds.
- Switching Off: Tap the Power button; the screen will display "Power off" to confirm shutdown.
- Volume Adjustment: Tap the '+' button to increase volume, and the '-' button to decrease volume.
- Back: While music is playing, tap the back button to exit the current screen.
- Resetting the Device: If the device becomes unresponsive, poke the reset hole with a thin needle or hold the power button for 15 seconds.
3. Setup
3.1. Charging the M3
Use the supplied USB Type-C cable to connect your M3 to a computer's USB port or a 5V/1A wall charger. Avoid using fast chargers exceeding 30W, as the MP3 player does not support fast charging and it may lead to product failure.

3.2. Data Transfer
Connect your M3 to a computer using the supplied USB cable. You can transfer media files by dragging and dropping them as you would with a flash drive. Alternatively, use music management software like Windows Media Player (not compatible with iTunes).
Attention:
- If your computer does not detect the MP3 Player, update your USB driver or try a different cable. If the issue persists, contact mechenservice@hotmail.com.
- Applications on standard MP3/MP4 players occupy a portion of memory, so the actual usable memory may be slightly smaller than advertised.
3.3. Bluetooth Pairing
The M3 features an upgraded Bluetooth 5.3 chip for stable and fast transmission to link with Bluetooth headphones and speakers.

- Turn on your Bluetooth speaker or headset and ensure it is in pairing mode.
- On your M3, turn on Bluetooth mode and initiate a search for nearby Bluetooth devices.
- Once your device is found, select it to begin pairing.
Attention:
- The M3 cannot be paired with smartphones or PCs.
- The AAC-LC music format is not supported in Bluetooth playback mode.
- When listening to FM radio via Bluetooth, wired headphones are required as the radio antenna.
- Video, Photo, and Recorder functions cannot be used in Bluetooth mode.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Music Playback
Tap the 'Music' icon on the main screen to access your music library. The M3 supports HIFI lossless sound quality with MSONV Super HiFi audio technology.

You will find lists such as 'All songs', 'Last played', 'Artists', 'Albums', 'Genres', and 'Playlists'. If a TF card is inserted, you will also see 'Local folder' and 'Card folder'.
Playback Modes:
- Sequential Play: Plays songs in order.
- All Repeat: Repeats the entire playlist.
- Single Cycle: Repeats the current song.
- Shuffle: Plays songs in random order.
- AB Repeat: Repeats a specific section of a song.
- Equalizer: Adjust audio frequencies for personalized sound.

Attention:
- Only 4000 music tracks can be displayed in the music lists. To find all tracks, navigate to the folders.
- If music tracks are not recognized, contact support with the files for checking.
- Music files are sorted by ASCII code: Arabic numerals (001, 002, 003...) then English letters (A-Z).
4.2. Video Playback
The M3 supports AMV & AVI video formats (resolution: 240*320).
Attention:
- Videos must be converted to the supported format before playback. Scan the QR code provided in the original manual (not embeddable here) to get the video converter, or email mechenservice@hotmail.com.
4.3. FM Radio
To access FM Radio, tap the 'Radio' icon. You can record FM broadcasts and select different frequency bands.

FM Recording:
- Tap the FM icon, then check the settings menu and choose "Start FM radio recording".
- You will be prompted to pause, continue, save, or cancel the recording.
FM Band Selection:
In the FM settings menu, tap "Tuner Region" to select your desired band:
- Common Band: 87.0 MHz ~ 108.0 MHz
- Japan Band: 76 MHz ~ 90 MHz
- Euro Band: 87.0 MHz ~ 108.0 MHz
4.4. Recorder
The M3 includes a voice recorder function, useful for classes, speeches, or meetings. It supports MP3/WAV formats with adjustable bit rates up to 1536kbps.

The M3 also supports Line-in Recording, allowing you to record high-quality audio from other devices with an AUX port without external noise interference.

4.5. E-Book Reader
Tap the 'E-Book' icon to view your e-book files. Only TXT files are supported.
4.6. Additional Functions
The M3 MP3 player offers several other useful features:

4.7. Settings
Access the 'Settings' menu to configure various aspects of your M3, including language, display settings, sleep timer, power off timer, date and time, and device information. You can also format the device or restore factory settings from here.
5. User Tips
- For optimal battery life and to prevent damage, always use a 5V/1A charger. Avoid fast chargers.
- When transferring files, ensure your computer's USB drivers are up to date for proper device recognition.
- To enjoy FM radio, remember to plug in wired headphones as they act as the antenna.
- If you rename music files, they might move to the bottom of the list in 'Music' view; use 'Folder' view for consistent sorting by edit time.
- Consider adding bookmarks when listening to audiobooks for easy resumption.

7. Maintenance & Cautions
- Hearing Protection: Prolonged exposure to loud music or sounds can damage your hearing. Use at moderate volumes.
- Environmental Protection: Keep the product away from dampness, jolts, dust, heat, and direct sunlight to prevent operational problems.
- Product Integrity: Do not open the product casing, as this will void the warranty and may damage or destroy the device.
- Child Safety: Do not allow children to play with electrical products unsupervised, as they may not assess potential dangers.
- Cleaning: Do not use solvents or corrosive cleaning sprays. If necessary, clean the product casing with a damp cloth.
- Battery Care: Do not short-circuit, disassemble, or deform the batteries.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device Not Detected by PC: If your computer fails to recognize the MP3 player, try updating your USB drivers or using a different USB cable. If the problem persists, contact customer support.
- Video Playback Issues: Ensure all video files are converted to AMV or AVI format (240x320 resolution) before attempting to play them on the device.
- Bluetooth Pairing Failure: Confirm that the target Bluetooth device (headphones/speaker) is in pairing mode and not connected to another device. Remember, the M3 cannot pair with smartphones or PCs.
- Music File Sorting: If music files appear out of order, note that the device sorts by edit time in 'Music' lists. For consistent alphabetical or numerical sorting, use the 'Folder' view.
- Limited Music List Display: Only 4000 music tracks are displayed in the main music lists. Access the 'Folder' view to browse all tracks.
