1. Product Overview
The GCQ2 Series Dual Power Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is designed for household and similar applications, providing a reliable solution for automatically switching between two power sources. This ensures continuous power supply to critical loads by seamlessly transferring from a primary (normal) power source to a secondary (backup) power source in the event of a primary power failure. It supports both automatic and manual operation modes.

3. Safety Information
Always ensure that installation and maintenance are performed by qualified personnel. Disconnect all power sources before working on the switch to prevent electric shock. Follow all local electrical codes and regulations. Do not operate the switch if it appears damaged.
4. Installation and Setup
- Mounting: Securely mount the GCQ2 ATS in a suitable electrical enclosure or panel, ensuring adequate ventilation and clearance for wiring.
- Wiring Connections: Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper connection of the normal power source, backup power source, and load output.
- Connect the Common Live Wire (火线) and Common Neutral Wire (零线) from your primary power source to the terminals labeled 'N' (Normal) on the left side of the switch.
- Connect the Backup Live Wire (火线) and Backup Neutral Wire (零线) from your secondary power source to the terminals labeled 'R' (Reserve) on the right side of the switch.
- Connect your electrical load (负载输出) to the output terminals at the bottom of the switch.
- Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent loose contacts and overheating.
- Control Wiring: The green terminal block at the top is for control signals. Ensure these are connected according to your system's requirements for automatic operation.
- Initial Check: Before applying power, double-check all wiring for correctness and security.

5. Operating Instructions
The GCQ2 ATS offers both automatic and manual modes of operation.
5.1. Automatic Mode
- Set the selector switch at the top of the unit to "Auto".
- In this mode, the switch will automatically detect the presence and quality of power from both the normal and backup sources.
- If the normal power source fails, the ATS will automatically transfer the load to the backup power source.
- When normal power is restored, the ATS will automatically transfer the load back to the normal power source.
- The indicators "Un Non" (Unusual Non-power) and "Ur Ron" (Unusual Power) provide status feedback on the power sources.
5.2. Manual Mode
- Set the selector switch at the top of the unit to "Manual".
- To manually switch between power sources, rotate the main handle (with the "Direction" arrow) to the desired position:
- "N" Position: Connects the load to the Normal power source.
- "R" Position: Connects the load to the Reserve (Backup) power source.
- "OFF" Position: Disconnects the load from both power sources.
- Ensure the handle is fully engaged in the desired position.
6. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the switch for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, or discoloration due to overheating.
- Cleaning: Keep the switch and its surroundings clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, non-abrasive cloth for cleaning. Ensure power is disconnected before cleaning.
- Terminal Tightness: Annually check the tightness of all electrical connections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Functionality Test: Periodically test the automatic transfer function by simulating a power outage on the normal source (if safe to do so and with proper precautions).
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power to load in Auto mode | Both normal and backup power sources are off, or one source is off and the ATS failed to transfer. | Check both power sources. Verify the ATS is in "Auto" mode. Inspect wiring connections. |
| ATS does not transfer automatically | ATS is in "Manual" mode, or control wiring issue, or fault with power source detection. | Ensure the selector switch is set to "Auto". Check control circuit connections. Consult a qualified electrician. |
| Overheating or burning smell | Loose connections, overloaded circuit, or internal fault. | Immediately disconnect power. Do not operate. Have a qualified electrician inspect the unit and wiring. |
8. User Tips
- For optimal performance, ensure that the normal and backup power sources are properly phased and voltage-matched.
- Consider installing surge protection devices upstream of the ATS to protect it and connected loads from voltage spikes.
- Regularly check the indicator lights ("Un Non", "Ur Ron") to monitor the status of your power sources.
