4. Operating Instructions
The iFlight Borg Mini F7 Stack operates using Betaflight or INAV firmware for the Flight Controller and BL32 firmware for the ESC. Detailed configuration and tuning are performed via the respective configurator software (e.g., Betaflight Configurator, INAV Configurator).
4.1. Firmware Flashing
- FC Firmware Target: IFLIGHT_BLITZ_F722 (for both Betaflight and INAV)
- ESC Firmware Target: IFLIGHT_BLITZ_G3 32.9 (BL32)
Connect the FC to your computer via the USB-C port. Use the appropriate configurator software to flash the firmware and configure settings such as motor direction, PID tuning, OSD elements, and flight modes.
5. Maintenance
- Regularly inspect all solder joints for cold joints or breaks.
- Ensure all connectors are securely seated.
- Keep the stack clean from dust, dirt, and moisture.
- Periodically check for firmware updates for both the FC and ESC to benefit from performance improvements and bug fixes.
- Avoid exposing the electronics to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check battery connection, main power leads, and ensure no short circuits.
- Motors Not Spinning: Verify ESC calibration, motor wiring, and DShot protocol settings in the FC configurator. Check for bent motor pins or damaged motor wires.
- Intermittent Signal Loss: Inspect receiver wiring, antenna placement, and ensure proper binding with your radio transmitter.
- Unstable Flight: Review PID settings, ensure correct motor order and rotation, and check for vibrations affecting the gyro.
- VTX Issues: Confirm VTX power supply (12V BEC), antenna connection, and VTX protocol settings (DJI MSP/Smartaudio/IRCTramp/HDZero).
7. User Tips
- When mounting the stack, ensure that the screws used are of appropriate length to avoid damaging components on the boards. The mounting pattern is 20x20mm with φ4mm holes.
- Always perform a dry run and check motor direction in the Betaflight/INAV configurator before attaching propellers.
- Consider using thread-locking compound on mounting screws to prevent them from loosening due to vibrations.
