2. What's in the Box
Please check the contents of your package to ensure all items are present:
- 1 x FQ20 Fingerprint Lock Unit (main body with fingerprint sensor, cable, and base)
- 5 x Mounting Screws

3. Setup
The FQ20 Fingerprint Lock offers two installation methods: adhesive mounting or drilling for a more permanent fix. Choose the method that best suits your needs.
3.1 Installation Methods

Adhesive Installation (No Drilling)
- Clean Surface: Thoroughly clean the door or window frames where the lock will be installed. Ensure the surface is dry and free of dust or grease for optimal adhesion.
- Apply Adhesion Promoter: Use the provided adhesion promoter (primer wipe) on the installation area to enhance the adhesive effect.
- Determine Position: Carefully determine the exact installation position for both parts of the lock.
- Peel Backing: Tear off the adhesive backing from both parts of the lock.
- Press Firmly: Press the base of each limiter tightly onto the door and window frames.
- Curing Time: After installation, wait for 48 hours before using the lock to ensure a firm and lasting fit.
Drilling Installation
For a more secure and permanent installation, use the provided screws:
- Determine Position: Carefully determine the exact installation position for both parts of the lock.
- Mark Holes: Mark the screw hole positions on the door or window frame.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Drill small pilot holes at the marked positions.
- Secure with Screws: Attach both parts of the lock to the surface using the provided screws.
3.2 Fingerprint Enrollment
The lock can store up to 20 unique fingerprints. The first two fingerprints enrolled will be considered administrator fingerprints.

- Initiate Enrollment: Press and hold any finger on the fingerprint sensor until the blue light is continuously on.
- First Fingerprint: Lift your finger. Then, repeatedly lift and press the same finger on the sensor 10 times. The blue light will flash with each successful scan. Continue until the green light turns on and remains steady for a moment, then stops. This indicates the first fingerprint has been successfully enrolled.
- Second Fingerprint: After the first fingerprint is successfully enrolled (green light turns on), replace the finger with a new one (or a different finger from the same person) and repeat the process: lift and press the finger 10 times until the green light turns on and stops. This enrolls the second fingerprint.
- Additional Fingerprints: To add more fingerprints (up to 20), use an already enrolled administrator fingerprint to initiate enrollment (press and hold until blue light is on), then follow step 2 with the new finger.
Important Note for Enrollment:
- When enrolling, press your finger once and lift it. Do not keep it pressed.
- Move your finger slightly up and down, and left and right, to capture different parts of your fingerprint. Avoid pressing the exact same part of your finger repeatedly. This ensures better recognition accuracy.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Unlocking
To unlock the device, simply place any of your recorded fingerprints on the sensor. A green light will illuminate, indicating successful recognition, and the lock will disengage.
4.2 Locking
The FQ20 Fingerprint Lock automatically engages when the cable is secured into the main unit. No manual action is required to lock it after closing the protected item.

5. Maintenance
- Clean Sensor: Regularly wipe the fingerprint sensor with a soft, dry cloth to ensure optimal performance. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
- Check Adhesion/Screws: Periodically inspect the adhesive bond or the tightness of the mounting screws to ensure the lock remains securely attached.
- Recharge Battery: The lock is powered by a rechargeable battery. Recharge the device when the battery indicator shows low power. Use a standard USB charging cable (not included) for charging.
6. Troubleshooting
- Lock does not unlock:
- Ensure your finger is clean and dry.
- Try different angles or parts of your registered finger.
- If the red light appears (indicating 'Unlock failed'), try another registered fingerprint.
- Check the battery level. If low, recharge the device.
- If issues persist, try re-enrolling your fingerprint.
- Lock is not securely attached:
- If using adhesive, ensure the surface was properly cleaned and the 48-hour curing time was observed. Reapply with new adhesive if necessary.
- For critical applications, consider using the drilling installation method with screws for maximum security.
- Cannot enroll new fingerprints:
- Ensure you are using an already enrolled administrator fingerprint to initiate the enrollment process for new users.
- Make sure you are lifting and pressing your finger 10 times, varying the position slightly each time.
- Check if the maximum number of fingerprints (20) has been reached.
