3. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Q1 Smart TV Box, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the TV Box.
  • Clean the device regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
  • Periodically check for and install system updates to keep the software current and secure.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Reflashing the Box (Firmware Update/Recovery)

If you experience significant software issues, you may need to reflash the firmware. This process can resolve many software-related problems.

  1. Uncompress the downloaded firmware (ROM) to the root directory of an SD card. Ensure your SD card is formatted first.
  2. Insert the SD card into the powered-off TV Box (power cable not plugged in) with no external USB storage attached.
  3. Using a toothpick or similar small object, insert it into the AV port of the Box. Press and hold the hidden button inside while plugging in the power cable. Do not release the button until you see the "Robert Logo" screen.
  4. The update will run automatically. Once complete, choose "Reboot". You can disregard any errors that display after the update, as they are not relevant to your device.
  5. After the system reboots, check to ensure Wi-Fi is working by going to Settings > Wi-Fi. Turn on Wi-Fi if it's off, and you should be able to connect.

4.2 App Compatibility Issues

Some applications, especially those not optimized for Android TV, might not work as expected or may not be available on the Google Play Store for TV. If an application like "Tivibugo TV+" does not work after installation, it might be due to compatibility limitations with the Android TV operating system or the device's hardware.

  • Ensure the app is designed for Android TV.
  • Try searching for alternative apps that offer similar functionality and are compatible with Android TV.
  • Check the app's requirements and your device's specifications.

6. User Tips

  • App Installation: While the device supports many apps, some region-specific or niche applications might not be directly available on the pre-installed app stores. Consider using alternative app stores like Aptoide TV for a wider selection, but always exercise caution and ensure apps are from trusted sources.
  • Remote Control: The voice remote is a powerful tool. Utilize its voice search feature for quick content discovery. If you have a universal remote, consider using the IR learning function to consolidate your controls.
  • Connectivity: For the most stable streaming experience, especially with 8K content, a wired Ethernet connection is recommended over Wi-Fi if available.
  • Storage: If you plan to download many apps or store media, consider models with higher internal storage (64GB or 128GB) or use a TF card for expansion.

7. Warranty and Support
