5. Operation

5.1. Monitoring Liquid Levels

Once connected, the Tuya SmartLife app provides real-time data on your liquid tank:

  • Liquid Level Ratio: Displays the percentage of the tank filled.
  • Liquid Level Depth: Shows the actual depth of the liquid in meters.
  • Liquid Level Status: Indicates 'Normal', 'Full alarm', or 'Lower alarm' based on your settings.
  • Supply Voltage: Shows the current voltage supplied to the sensor.
  • Historical Data: View liquid level trends over Day, Month, or Year.

5.2. App Settings

Configure your sensor settings within the app:

  • Set Installation Height: This is the distance from the sensor unit to the bottom of the tank. Accurate setting is crucial for precise depth readings.
  • Set Max Level: Define the high liquid level threshold for 'Full alarm' notifications.
  • Set Min Level: Define the low liquid level threshold for 'Lower alarm' notifications.
  • Pump Working Mode: For models with pump control (e.g., ME201WC, ME201WCS), the default pump working mode is 'Refilling'. You can adjust this as needed.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your liquid level sensor, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Regular Cleaning: Periodically inspect the sensor probe for any buildup of debris, sediment, or foreign matter. Gently clean the probe with a soft cloth and mild detergent if necessary. Ensure it is completely dry before re-installation.
  • Cable Inspection: Check the sensor cable for any signs of wear, damage, or kinks. Ensure all connections are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Power Supply Check: Verify that the power adapter is functioning correctly and providing stable power to the sensor. For solar-powered models (e.g., ME201WSP), ensure the solar panel is clean and receiving adequate sunlight, and check battery health periodically.
  • Software Updates: Keep your Tuya SmartLife app updated to the latest version to benefit from new features and performance improvements.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the sensor operates within its specified temperature range (-20-70℃) to prevent damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ME202W sensor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Sensor not connecting to the app:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the sensor is powered on.
    • Perform a network reset by pressing and holding the button on the sensor for 5 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly.
    • Verify that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your mobile phone.
    • Check that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi network name and password in the app. The sensor supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks only.
    • Ensure the sensor is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Inaccurate liquid level readings:
    • Double-check the 'Installation height' setting in the app. An incorrect height will lead to inaccurate depth calculations.
    • Inspect the sensor probe for any physical obstructions or debris that might interfere with ultrasonic readings.
    • Ensure the probe is hanging freely and not touching the tank walls or bottom.
  • No alarms or notifications:
    • Verify that the 'Set Max' and 'Set Min' alarm levels are correctly configured in the app.
    • Check your phone's notification settings to ensure that the Tuya SmartLife app is permitted to send notifications.
    • Ensure the sensor is connected to the network and reporting data.
