Setup

1. Power Connection:

  • Ensure the mixer's power switch is in the OFF position.
  • Connect the provided AC power adapter to the External Power Input Socket on the rear of the mixer.
  • Plug the power adapter into a suitable AC power outlet.

2. Connecting Audio Sources:

  • Microphones: Connect microphones to the MIC inputs (XLR jacks). If using condenser microphones, press the +48V PHANTOM button to supply power.
  • Line-Level Devices: Connect instruments (keyboards, guitars with preamps) or other audio devices (CD players, media players) to the LINE IN inputs (6.35mm jacks).
  • Tape/External Playback: Use the TAPE REC (RCA) inputs for connecting external playback devices.

3. Connecting Output Devices:

  • Main Output: Connect your main speakers or power amplifier to the MAIN OUT (XLR or 6.35mm jacks).
  • Headphones: Plug your headphones into the PHONES jack for monitoring.
  • Auxiliary Outputs: Use AUX1/AUX2 outputs to send signals to stage monitors or external effects processors.

4. USB Connection:

  • To use the mixer as an audio interface with a computer, connect a USB cable from the mixer's USB INTERFACE to your computer. The mixer is plug-and-play, requiring no special drivers for basic functionality.
  • To play MP3 files from a USB drive, insert the USB drive into the USB INTERFACE.

5. Bluetooth Connection:

  • Press the MODE button on the MP3 section until 'Bluetooth' mode is selected on the LCD display.
  • On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet), search for available devices and select 'Depusheng FG12' (or similar name) to pair.
  • Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the mixer.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On:

  • After all connections are made, turn on your main speakers/amplifier first, then turn on the Depusheng FG12 mixer using the Power Switch.

2. Adjusting Input Levels (Gain):

  • For each active channel, speak into the microphone or play your instrument at its normal performance level.
  • Adjust the GAIN Controller for that channel until the PEAK LED occasionally flashes, then back it off slightly. This ensures a strong signal without distortion.

3. Equalization (EQ):

  • Use the HIGH, MID, and LOW EQ knobs to shape the tone of each channel.
  • HIGH: Adjusts treble frequencies (e.g., 10kHz).
  • MID: Adjusts mid-range frequencies (e.g., 2.5kHz).
  • LOW: Adjusts bass frequencies (e.g., 100Hz).

4. Pan Control:

  • The PAN knob allows you to position the channel's sound within the stereo field (left to right).

5. Channel Volume:

  • Use the individual Channel Volume Faders to set the relative volume of each input in the mix.

6. DSP Effects:

  • The FG12 features 24 DSP effects with up to 99 programs.
  • Turn the PROGRAM (PUSH) knob to scroll through the available effects (e.g., Bright Hall, Slap Reverb, Echo, Chorus, Flanger, Distortion, Wahwah, Tremolo, Pitch Shift, Hall+Delay, Delay+Chorus, Delay+Chorus+Reverb). The selected effect number will appear on the LCD display.
  • Push the PROGRAM knob to confirm your selection.
  • Adjust the FX Volume Fader to control the overall level of the applied effect.

7. MP3/USB/Bluetooth Playback:

  • Once a USB drive is inserted or a Bluetooth device is paired, use the MP3 Display and buttons (Play/Pause, Next, Previous) to control playback.
  • Adjust the MP3 Volume Fader to control the playback level.

8. Main Mix and Monitoring:

  • Adjust the LEFT/RIGHT Main Volume Faders to control the overall output level to your main speakers.
  • Monitor your mix using headphones, adjusting the PHONES Level Controller as needed.
