EARUELETRIC ATS

EARUELETRIC ATS Automatic Transfer Switch User Manual

Model: ATS (EAATS-E-PC)

1. Product Overview

The EARUELETRIC ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) is a terminal-type automatic transfer device designed to seamlessly switch between a normal power source and a reserve power source. It is suitable for 3-phase 4-wire (or 1-phase 1-wire) dual power grids with AC 50/60Hz, rated voltage 400V/230V, and rated current up to 63A/125A.

This switch prioritizes the normal power source. If the normal power is active, the switch will connect to it. If the normal power fails (e.g., loss of voltage or phase on Phase A), and a reserve power source is available, the switch will automatically transfer to the reserve power to ensure continuous power supply to the load circuits.

The ATS conforms to the GB/T14048.11 standard.

Important Wiring Notes:

  • When using a 3P switch, ensure the common power supply neutral wire is connected to terminal 3 and the backup neutral wire to terminal 6.
  • If the switch is a 3-level type, connect the neutral line to the common neutral line contact 3.
  • The indicator light signifies AC220V output.
  • External power supply to the indicating terminals is strictly prohibited.

4. Operating Instructions

The ATS offers two operating modes: Automatic and Manual.

Mode Selection

  1. Automatic Mode: Press the Mode Switch Button to 'Auto'. In this mode, the switch will automatically detect the availability of the normal and reserve power sources and transfer the load accordingly. The normal power source is prioritized.
  2. Manual Mode: Press the Mode Switch Button to 'Manual'. In this mode, automatic transfer is disabled. You must manually switch the power source using the Manual Operation Knob.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ATS, regular maintenance is recommended:

  • Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the switch for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, or overheating (discoloration).
  • Terminal Tightness: Ensure all wiring terminals are securely tightened. Loose connections can lead to arcing and overheating.
  • Dust and Debris: Keep the switch free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth or compressed air to clean the exterior.
  • Functionality Test: Regularly test the automatic transfer function by temporarily disconnecting the normal power source to ensure the switch transfers to the backup power as expected.
  • Professional Check: It is advisable to have a qualified electrician inspect the ATS and your electrical system annually.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ATS, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Automatic Transfer:
    • Check if the Mode Switch Button is set to 'Auto'.
    • Verify both normal and reserve power sources are active and within specified voltage ranges.
    • Inspect control wiring for proper connections.
  • No Power to Load:
    • Ensure both normal and reserve power sources are supplying power.
    • Check the position of the Manual Operation Knob if in 'Manual' mode.
    • Verify all input and output connections are secure.
    • Check for tripped circuit breakers upstream of the ATS.
  • Overheating/Burning Smell:
    • Immediately disconnect all power sources.
    • This indicates a serious issue, likely loose connections or an overloaded circuit. Do not attempt to operate the switch. Contact a qualified electrician.

For persistent issues, consult a qualified electrician or contact customer support.

7. User Tips

  • Generator Compatibility: Remember that this ATS does not control the starting or stopping of a generator. Ensure your generator has its own automatic start/stop capabilities if you desire fully automated backup power.
  • Load Balancing: For 3-phase systems, ensure loads are balanced across phases to prevent uneven wear or tripping.
  • Safety First: Always prioritize safety. If you are unsure about any wiring or electrical procedures, consult a professional.

8. Warranty and Support

For warranty information, technical support, or service inquiries, please refer to the documentation provided at the time of purchase or contact EARUELETRIC customer service directly. Keep your purchase receipt and product model number handy for faster assistance.
