6. Setup

6.1 Physical Setup

  1. **Mounting:** Securely attach the Microscope Video Multimeter unit to a compatible microscope stand or mounting arm. Ensure it is stable and level.
  2. **Lens Attachment:** If applicable, attach the appropriate C/CS mount lens to the camera unit.
  3. **Power Connection:** Connect the power adapter to the Type-C port on the device and plug it into a power outlet.
  4. **Display Connection:**
    • For HDMI output: Connect an HDMI cable from the device's HDMI port to an external monitor or display.
    • For USB output: Connect a Type-C to USB cable from the device's Type-C port to a computer. Note that measurement data recording via PC is not supported.
  5. **Multimeter Probe Connection:** Insert the red and black multimeter probes into their respective (+) and (-) ports on the device.

6.2 Initial Power On

  1. After all connections are made, press the **ON/OFF/DEL** button to power on the device.
  2. The display on the unit and the connected external monitor (if using HDMI) should activate.
  3. Adjust the focus of the microscope lens as needed to achieve a clear image on your display.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Camera Operation

  • **Zoom:** Use the **UP** button (Zoom In) and **DOWN** button (Zoom Out) on the device or remote control to adjust the digital zoom (up to 5.0X).
  • **Taking Photos:** Press the **OK/📸** button to capture a static image. Images are saved to the inserted TF memory card.
  • **Video Recording:** Use the remote control's "Videotape" button to start/stop video recording.
  • **Menu Navigation:** Press the **MENU** button to access camera settings. Use **UP/DOWN** to navigate and **OK** to select.
  • **Mode/Exposure:** Use the **MODE/AE** button to switch between different camera modes or adjust exposure settings.

7.2 Multimeter Operation

  • **Selecting Function:** Use the 'V' (Voltage) and 'kΩ' (Resistance) buttons on the device to switch between measurement modes. The diode/continuity test is also available.
  • **Performing Measurements:**
    1. Ensure the multimeter probes are correctly connected.
    2. Select the desired measurement function.
    3. Carefully place the probe tips on the circuit points to be measured.
    4. The measurement data will be displayed on the device's screen and synchronously on the external monitor.
  • **Measurement Data Recording:** The device can store up to 20 sets of measurement data. This function is primarily supported when casting to an HDMI screen. PC terminal support for this feature is not available at this time.

7.3 Remote Control Usage

Point the remote control towards the IR receiver on the device. Use the buttons as described in Section 4.2 to control camera functions, navigate menus, and adjust settings without directly touching the unit.

  • **Cleaning:** Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • **Storage:** When not in use, store the device in a clean, dry, and dust-free environment.
  • **Probe Care:** Keep multimeter probes clean and free from damage. Replace worn or damaged probes immediately to ensure accurate and safe measurements.
