Product Overview
The SKMEI Model 2478 features a clear digital display and four control buttons for easy navigation and function access.

Button Functions:
- LIGHT Button: Activates the EL backlight for illumination.
- MODE Button: Cycles through different operational modes (Time, Dual Time, Stopwatch, Alarm, Countdown).
- START Button: Used to start/stop functions in stopwatch and countdown modes, and to adjust values during setting.
- RESET Button: Used to reset functions in stopwatch and countdown modes, and to adjust values during setting.

Setup
Initial Power On
The watch comes with a pre-installed battery. If the display is blank, press any button to activate it. If it remains blank, the battery may need replacement (see Maintenance section).
Setting Time and Date
- In normal time display mode, press the MODE button repeatedly until the desired setting (e.g., seconds, hours, minutes, month, date, year) starts flashing.
- Use the START button to increase the flashing value or the RESET button to decrease it. Hold down the button for faster adjustment.
- Press the MODE button again to move to the next setting item.
- Once all settings are adjusted, press the MODE button to return to normal time display mode.
12/24 Hour Format Selection
While setting the hour, pressing the START or RESET button will cycle between 12-hour (with 'AM'/'PM' indicator) and 24-hour formats.
Operating Instructions
Switching Modes
Press the MODE button to cycle through the following modes:
- Normal Time Display
- Dual Time (2 Time)
- Stopwatch (CHM)
- Alarm (ALM)
- Countdown Timer (TMR)
Dual Time (2 Time) Mode
- From normal time display, press MODE until '2 TIME' appears.
- To set, press and hold RESET until the hour flashes.
- Use START or RESET to adjust the hour.
- Press MODE to select minutes, then use START or RESET to adjust.
- Press RESET to confirm and exit setting mode.
Stopwatch (CHM) Mode
- Press MODE until 'CHM' appears.
- Press START to begin timing.
- Press START again to pause timing.
- Press START to resume timing from the paused point.
- While paused, press RESET to clear the stopwatch to zero.
Alarm (ALM) Mode
- Press MODE until 'ALM' appears.
- To set the alarm time, press and hold RESET until the hour flashes.
- Use START or RESET to adjust the hour.
- Press MODE to select minutes, then use START or RESET to adjust.
- Press RESET to confirm the alarm time.
- To turn the alarm ON/OFF, press START while in Alarm mode (not in setting mode). An alarm icon will appear/disappear on the display.
- To activate the hourly chime, press RESET while in Alarm mode (not in setting mode). A chime icon will appear/disappear.
Countdown Timer (TMR) Mode
- Press MODE until 'TMR' appears.
- To set the countdown time, press and hold RESET until the hour flashes.
- Use START or RESET to adjust the hour.
- Press MODE to select minutes, then use START or RESET to adjust.
- Press RESET to confirm the countdown time.
- Press START to begin the countdown.
- Press START again to pause the countdown.
- Press START to resume. While paused, press RESET to reset the timer to its initial set value.
EL Backlight
Press the LIGHT button at any time to illuminate the display for a few seconds.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and smudges. For the stainless steel band, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
Water Resistance (30M)
Your SKMEI 2478 watch is water-resistant up to 30 meters (3ATM). This means it is suitable for daily use, such as splashes, rain, and hand washing. It is NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, diving, or any water sports where it might be submerged for extended periods or subjected to high-pressure water.

Battery Replacement
The watch uses a CR2025 battery. When the display dims or functions become erratic, it's time to replace the battery. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
Troubleshooting
- Watch not displaying time: Check if the battery is depleted. If recently replaced, ensure it's inserted correctly.
- Buttons not responding: Ensure the watch is not in a locked mode (if applicable, though not a feature of this model). Try pressing the buttons firmly. If unresponsive, a battery issue or internal fault may be present.
- Inaccurate time: Re-set the time following the 'Setting Time and Date' instructions. If the issue persists, the watch's movement may require inspection.
- Water ingress: If water appears inside the watch, immediately take it to a professional for inspection and repair to prevent further damage.
User Tips
- Band Adjustment: The stainless steel band can be adjusted by removing links. This typically requires a small tool and can be done by a jeweler or watch repair shop for a perfect fit.
- Understanding Water Resistance: While 30M water resistance is good for daily splashes, avoid exposing the watch to hot water (e.g., hot showers) as temperature changes can affect the seals.
- Button Operation in Water: Do not operate any buttons while the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance.
