4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the printer is powered off.
  2. Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom or back of the printer.
  3. Open the battery compartment.
  4. Insert the provided lithium battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
  5. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Paper Loading

  1. Press the cover open button/latch to open the paper roll compartment.
  2. Insert a new 80mm thermal paper roll into the compartment, ensuring the paper feeds out from the top and the print side is facing the print head.
  3. Pull a small amount of paper out beyond the cutting edge.
  4. Close the paper roll compartment cover firmly until it clicks into place.

4.3 Charging the Printer

Before first use, fully charge the printer's battery.

  1. Connect the provided USB cable to the printer's USB port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. The 'CHARGE' LED indicator on the printer will illuminate, indicating that charging is in progress.
  4. Once fully charged, the 'CHARGE' indicator may change color or turn off, depending on the printer's design.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) for a few seconds until the indicator lights illuminate.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the power button again until the indicator lights turn off.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing

To print wirelessly, you need to pair the printer with your Android or iOS device.

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and within range of your device.
  2. On your mobile device, go to the Bluetooth settings and turn Bluetooth on.
  3. Search for available devices. The printer should appear as 'NT-8003DD' or a similar name.
  4. Select the printer from the list to initiate pairing. You may be prompted for a PIN (common default PINs are '0000' or '1234').
  5. Once paired, your device will show the printer as 'Connected'.

5.3 Printing

After successful Bluetooth pairing, you can print from compatible applications on your mobile device.

  1. Open the application from which you wish to print (e.g., a POS application, receipt printing app).
  2. Select the print option within the application.
  3. Choose the 'NT-8003DD' printer from the list of available printers.
  4. Confirm print settings and initiate the print job.

5.4 LED Indicators

The printer features several LED indicators on its control panel:

  • CHARGE: Indicates charging status.
  • ERROR: Illuminates when an error occurs (e.g., paper out, print head overheating).
  • MODE: May indicate different operating modes or settings.
  • Battery Level Indicators: A series of lights (e.g., 3-4 bars) showing the remaining battery charge.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Printer

  • Exterior: Wipe the printer's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Print Head: If print quality degrades, the thermal print head may need cleaning. Use a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the print head surface. Allow it to dry completely before use.
  • Paper Path: Remove any paper dust or debris from the paper path using a soft brush or compressed air.

6.2 Battery Care

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Charge the battery regularly, even if the printer is not in use for extended periods, to maintain battery health.
  • Store the printer in a cool, dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer does not power on. Low battery or no battery installed. Charge the battery or ensure it is correctly installed.
No print output. Paper out, paper loaded incorrectly, or print head issue. Check paper roll, reload correctly, or clean the print head.
Poor print quality. Dirty print head or low-quality thermal paper. Clean the print head. Try a different roll of thermal paper.
Cannot connect via Bluetooth. Printer not in pairing mode, incorrect PIN, or device issue. Ensure printer is on and discoverable. Re-enter PIN. Restart both devices.
ERROR indicator is on. Paper out, cover open, or print head overheating. Check paper, ensure cover is closed, or allow printer to cool down.
