4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Device

The Q29 features a split mounting design, making it suitable for various helmet types. Use the provided clip-on base and Velcro to securely attach the device to your helmet.

  1. Choose a suitable location on the side of your helmet for mounting the Q29 device.
  2. Attach the clip-on base to the helmet edge, ensuring it is firm and stable.
  3. Alternatively, use the adhesive Velcro pads for a more permanent attachment.
  4. Slide the Q29 device onto the mounted base until it clicks into place.

4.2 Connecting Speakers and Microphone

The Q29 comes with a TYPE-C 2-in-1 earphone microphone. Connect this to the Speaker&Microphone Interface on the device.

  1. Carefully route the speaker wires inside your helmet, positioning the speakers over your ears. Use the provided Horn Velcro to secure them.
  2. Position the microphone near your mouth for clear voice pickup. Use the Mic Stick Velcro to secure it.
  3. Plug the TYPE-C connector into the corresponding port on the Q29 device.

4.3 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the Q29 device. The device uses a Type-C charging port.

  1. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the charging port (13) on the Q29 device.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer USB port).
  3. The Charging Indicator (Red) will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours.

4.4 Inserting the Memory Card

The Q29 supports TF cards from 4GB to 256GB for recording video and photos.

  1. Locate the Recorder Memory Card slot (10) on the device.
  2. Insert the TF card (up to 256GB) into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is inserted in the correct orientation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Button Functions

The Q29 supports two-person intercom up to 500m and can adapt to third-party intercom devices.

  2. Press the Intercom Button (4) on your device to initiate intercom communication.
  3. To connect with a third-party wireless device, follow the pairing instructions for that device and then initiate intercom on the Q29.

5.3 Camera and Recording

  1. Ensure a TF card is inserted into the Recorder Memory Card slot (10).
  2. To start recording, short press the Recorder On/Off/Record Button (6). The Video Indicator (Blue) will light up.
  3. To stop recording, short press the Recorder On/Off/Record Button (6) again.
  4. To take a photo, short press the Photo/WiFi Button (5).

5.4 WiFi Video Recorder Function

6.1 Cleaning

  • Poor audio quality: Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly near your mouth. The CVC+DSP dual noise reduction should minimize environmental noise.

  • For optimal intercom performance, ensure a clear line of sight between riders. Obstacles can reduce the effective range.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates via the mobile application to ensure you have the latest features and improvements.
  • When using the camera, consider the lighting conditions for the best video quality. The 120° wide-angle lens is great for capturing expansive views.
  • To maximize battery life, turn off the device when not in use, especially the camera and WiFi functions which consume more power.
