4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Hardware Installation
- Identify a suitable mounting location on your windshield that does not obstruct your view.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly.
- Peel off the protective film from the fixed adhesive on the dash cam and firmly attach it to the chosen location.
- Connect the USB power line from the dash cam to an available USB port on your Android car audio/navigation unit.
- Insert a Class 10 TF card (max 256GB) into the TF storage card socket. Ensure correct insertion direction.
4.2 Software Installation (APK)
The necessary APK (AndroidPackage) software for the dash cam is built directly into the device itself. Follow these steps to install it on your Android car navigation unit:
- Connect the Dash Cam: Ensure the dash cam is connected to your car's Android navigation unit via USB.
- Access File Manager: On your Android navigation screen, open the file management application or an ES file browser.
- Locate the APK: Navigate to the external U disk (or similar external storage) within the file manager. You should find the installation software named
uCardvr.apkorcar.apk. - Install the Software: Click on the APK file to begin the installation process. Follow any on-screen prompts.
- Grant Permissions: During the first installation, a pop-up box will appear to obtain USB permissions. Grant these permissions for proper functionality.
- Launch the App: Once installation is complete, an icon labeled 'HD recorder' or 'recorder software' will appear on your navigation screen. Tap this icon to launch the dash cam application and access the preview screen, settings, and playback functions.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Operation
- Automatic Recording: The dash cam will automatically begin recording when your car's Android system powers on.
- Loop Recording: The device supports loop recording, automatically overwriting the oldest footage when the TF card is full to ensure continuous recording.
- Time Synchronization: The dash cam automatically synchronizes its time with your car's system upon startup.
- Accessing Footage: Use the installed dash cam application on your Android screen to view live footage, play back recorded videos, and adjust settings.
5.2 ADAS (Advanced Intelligent Driving Assistance System) Activation
To activate and utilize the ADAS features (such as fatigue driving reminder, front car start alert, front car distance warning, and track deviation warning):
- Network Connection: Ensure your Android car screen is connected to the internet via WiFi or a mobile hotspot.
- Software Upgrade: Within the dash cam application, locate and click the 'upgrade' option. Follow the corresponding steps to update the software.
- ADAS Line Adjustment: After the upgrade, adjust the center position of the ADAS marking line within the application settings to align with your vehicle's perspective.
- Activation Drive: Drive on clearly marked roads at a speed of 30 mph (or 30 km/h, depending on unit settings) or above. The system requires approximately one minute of driving on marked roads to fully activate and calibrate the ADAS features.
5.3 Floating Window Feature
The dash cam supports a 'Floating Window' feature, allowing the recorder's live view or playback screen to be displayed as an overlay while using other applications, such as navigation, on your Android car unit.
6. Maintenance
6.1 TF Card Management
- Always use a standard Class 10 speed genuine TF card for optimal performance.
- When replacing an old TF card or using a new one, it is highly recommended to format the card through the dash cam's advanced settings menu. This ensures compatibility and proper function.
- Regularly check the available space on your TF card. While loop recording manages space, a full card can lead to recording interruptions.
- If formatting, be aware that all data, including protected videos, will be deleted. Back up any important footage before formatting.
6.2 Lens Cleaning
- If images appear foggy or unclear, check the lens for dust, smudges, or fingerprints.
- Gently clean the lens using a soft, lint-free cloth or specialized lens paper. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the lens.
7. Troubleshooting
- Problem: No photos or videos can be taken after a certain period of time.
- Solution: Check if the TF card has enough space. If not, the device will automatically stop recording. Formatting the card will delete all videos (including protected ones, so save important footage first). If the issue persists after formatting, consider replacing the TF card.
- Problem: The image appears foggy.
- Solution: The lens may not be clean enough. Inspect the lens for any foreign objects or finger marks. Clean the lens gently with lens paper or a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Problem: Clicking on the app does not enter the preview screen.
- Solution: The USB port connection might be loose. Try unplugging and re-plugging the dash cam into the USB port of your Android navigation unit.
- Problem: The device does not record automatically or stops recording immediately after clicking the record button.
- Solution: The format of the TF card might be incorrect or corrupted. Enter the settings menu within the dash cam application and perform a format operation on the TF card.
8. User Tips
- TF Card Essential: Remember that the dash cam requires a TF card for operation, which is not included. Ensure you purchase a Class 10 TF card with sufficient capacity (up to 256GB) for your recording needs.
- APK Location: If you're having trouble finding the installation file (APK) for the dash cam software, it's embedded directly within the dash cam itself. Connect the dash cam to your Android unit, then use your unit's file manager to browse the connected 'U disk' to find and install the
uCardvr.apkorcar.apkfile.
