5. Setup

5.1 System Requirements

The TOOLTOP M7 Thermal Camera requires an Android smartphone running Android 6.0 or later with a Type-C USB port.

5.2 Connecting the Device

  1. Download and install the official TOOLTOP thermal imaging application from your Android device's app store or the provided QR code/link.
  2. Ensure your Android device's USB debugging or OTG function is enabled if required by the app (refer to your phone's settings).
  3. Carefully plug the TOOLTOP M7 Thermal Camera into your Android smartphone's Type-C USB port.
  4. Launch the thermal imaging application. The app should automatically detect the camera and display the thermal feed.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

Once connected and the app is running, the thermal camera will display a live thermal feed on your smartphone screen. You can use the app interface to access various functions.

6.2 Zoom Function

The device supports 1-8x continuous digital zoom. Use a two-finger swipe gesture on your smartphone screen to adjust the magnification. After zooming, manual focus may be required to maintain image clarity.

6.3 Manual Focus

To optimize image clarity, especially when the distance to the subject changes or after zooming, manually adjust the focus ring on the thermal camera module. Rotate the ring until the image appears sharp on your screen.

6.4 Image Modes and Color Palettes

10. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, clean, lint-free cloth, preferably a microfiber cloth, to gently wipe the lens. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution designed for optics can be applied to the cloth (not directly to the lens).
