3. Device Overview

3.3 Remote Control

Remote control for the IPC Tester with labeled buttons for PTZ focusing, zoom, aperture, cursor navigation, enter, close, power, and exit.

  • FAR+, NEAR-: PTZ Focusing - Operation

  • Arrow Buttons: Select cursor or menu left/right/down/up shift operation
  • ENTER: Confirm Button

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device using the provided Power Adaptor. Connect the adaptor to the DC 12V IN port. The red light indicates power, and the green light indicates charging. A full charge provides 8-10 hours of continuous working time.

4.2 Power On/Off

Press and hold the red Power Button on the device or remote control to power on or off the IPC Tester.

5. Operating Instructions

The NF-722 features a 7-inch 1920x1200 IPS HD full view touch screen for intuitive navigation.

5.1 CVBS Analog Video Input Test

Connect your CVBS analog camera to the CVBS/Coax Terminal. Select the 'CVBS & HD' application on the main interface, then choose 'CVBS' to view the video feed. The device supports PAL/NTSC format adaptation.

5.2 HD Camera Test (AHD/TVI/CVI/SDI)

The tester supports HD TVI 8MP, CVI 8MP, and AHD SMP cameras. Connect your HD coaxial camera to the CVBS/Coax Terminal. Select the 'CVBS & HD' application and choose the appropriate HD format (AHD, TVI, CVI, SDI) to view the video. Maximum support is 8MP with a resolution of 3840x2156 at 15fps.

5.3 IP Camera Test (IP Detection/One-Click Video)

Connect the network cable from your IP camera to the LAN interface of the instrument. Turn on the power. The tester can scan and identify virtual cameras, play image videos, and diagnose video recorder functions and circuit problems. It supports 4K H.265 IP camera testing with real-time video display, snapshot, recording, and playback.

The device is compatible with ONVIF standard protocol and supports DAHUA, HIKVISION, ACTI, SAMSUNG, and over 30 other manufacturer private protocols. It also supports camera mobile client installation.

5.4 HDMI Video Input Test

The HDMI IN port supports HDMI high-definition signal input up to 1080p 60fps. This allows you to directly debug DVR/NVR and other hard disk video recorders or use the tester as a replacement monitor.

5.5 Network Cable Test (TDR)

The device has a built-in network cable testing tool. Connect the network cable to the TDR Test Terminal. It displays a cable sequence diagram, showing continuity and connection status. The TDR breakpoint function visually indicates the crystal head at which end of the wire is faulty, and can display cable length, attenuation, quality, reflectivity, and impedance parameters.

5.6 Network Tools

The IPC Tester includes various network tools to make your work more efficient:

  • IP Address Scan Function: Discover devices on the network.
  • PING Tool: Test network connectivity and response time.
  • NET-port Blink Function: Locate network ports by blinking the connected device's LED.
  • Link Test: Check network link status.
  • DHCP: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol client.
  • Bandwidth Test: Measure network throughput.
  • DNS: Domain Name System tools.
  • Traceroute: Trace the path of data packets.
  • Socket: Socket testing.
  • CIDR: CIDR calculator.
  • Cable: Cable wiring diagrams (T568A, T568B, Straight, Cross Line).

5.7 PTZ Control

The device supports PTZ control for over 30 protocols, including Pelco-D/P, Samsung, and Panasonic. Use the on-screen controls or the remote control to manipulate camera pan, tilt, zoom, and aperture functions.

5.8 Audio Test

One channel audio signal input is available for testing. Audio can be recorded and saved directly on the device.

5.9 Power Output Functions

  • DC12V Power Output: Max current 3A, provides temporary power for cameras.
  • DC24V Power Output: Max current 1A, provides temporary power for cameras.
  • PoE Power Output: 48V standard PoE output, provides PoE power for cameras.
  • DC5V Power Output: Provides temporary power for USB-powered cameras or emergency power for mobile phones, max current 2A.

5.10 PSE Voltage Test

Display PoE power supply device voltage and circuit condition to ensure proper power delivery.

5.11 RS485 Serial Port Tool

Can send or receive any data or hex data for advanced device configuration and testing.

5.12 Other Functions (Demonstration Video)

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the screen or casing.

6.2 Storage

Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The working temperature range is -10°C to +50°C, and working humidity is 30%-90%.

6.3 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. Recharge the 7000mAh lithium battery when the charge indicator is low. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50% every few months.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the power adapter and try again. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
  • No video signal input: Double-check all cable connections (BNC for CVBS/HD, HDMI for HDMI input, Ethernet for IP). Ensure the camera is powered on and functioning correctly. Verify the correct input mode is selected on the tester.
  • Network cable test shows faulty: Inspect the RJ45 connectors for proper crimping. Check the cable for physical damage or sharp bends. The TDR function can help pinpoint the exact location of the fault.
