Note: Always operate the forward/reverse switching lever when the motor has completely stopped rotating. Set the lever to the center position for storage, transportation, or when changing bits.

Speed and Torque Settings

NW-S8240 Cordless Impact Driver (240NM)

This model features four speed/torque modes, allowing you to adjust the impact force and tightening power according to the task.

  • Mode 1 (1200 RPM / 60 N.m): For delicate tasks where excessive tightening could damage the workpiece or screw (e.g., small screws, soft materials).
  • Mode 2 (1900 RPM / 120 N.m): Suitable for general tightening and finishing work (e.g., stone board, finishing materials).
  • Mode 3 (2500 RPM / 180 N.m): For tasks requiring more power and speed.
  • Mode 4 (3200 RPM / 240 N.m): Maximum power and speed for demanding applications like long screws or bolts.

Drilling in Metal

When drilling into metal, first mark the desired hole location with a center punch. For improved bit sharpness and durability, use commercially available cutting oil (e.g., cutting oil, gear oil, sewing machine oil).

Note: Applying excessive force will not increase drilling speed and can damage the drill and tool, shortening its lifespan. If the drill gets stuck, switch to reverse mode and firmly grip the tool body to remove it. Do not drill into materials that may contain hidden objects like nails.

Tightening and Loosening Screws

Use the appropriate driver bit for the screw head. Using incorrect bit sizes can damage the screw head. Adjust the torque setting (NW-S8050) or speed mode (NW-S8240) according to the screw size and material. For large diameter screws or hard materials, pre-drilling a pilot hole is recommended.

Reverse Rotation Auto-Stop Function (NW-S8240)

In reverse mode, the speed is fixed. Pressing the gearshift button toggles the automatic stop function. When indicator No. 3 is lit, auto-stop is on; when unlit, it's off. When enabled, the rotation automatically stops before the bolt or nut fully detaches, preventing loss of fasteners.

Ring-Shaped Shadowless Lighting

Both models feature a ring-shaped LED light around the chuck to illuminate the work area, ensuring no shadows and improved visibility.

Troubleshooting

  • Tool not operating or abnormal sound: If the machine is in poor condition or makes abnormal sounds during use, immediately turn off the switch and stop using it. Contact your dealer for inspection and repair.
  • Reduced drilling speed or tool damage: Avoid applying excessive force when drilling. This does not increase speed and can damage the drill bit and the tool, shortening its service life.
  • Battery not charging: Ensure the charger is plugged in correctly and the battery is properly seated. Check for abnormal heat generation. Use only dedicated NANWEI chargers and batteries.
  • Screw head or material damage: Ensure you are using the correct bit size and appropriate torque/speed settings for the screw and material. For soft materials or small screws, use lower torque settings.

User Tips

  • For Metal Drilling: Always use a center punch to mark your drilling spot. Applying cutting oil (e.g., gear oil, sewing machine oil) can significantly improve bit sharpness and extend the life of your iron extrusion bits.
  • Preventing Screw Damage: When working with small diameter screws or soft materials, carefully adjust the torque. Starting with a lower torque setting and gradually increasing it can help prevent stripping screw heads or damaging the workpiece.
  • Battery Care: To maximize battery life, avoid fully discharging it frequently. Charge it when power starts to diminish, and store it fully charged if not in use for extended periods.
