Setup and Installation
Installation should be performed by two people for safety and ease. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the weight of the blinds.
- Measure and Mark: Carefully measure the installation area. Mark the positions for the mounting brackets on the wall or ceiling, ensuring they are level and correctly spaced for your blind's width.
- Install Mounting Brackets: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. Secure the mounting brackets using appropriate fasteners and anchors for your wall type. Ensure they are firmly attached.
- Mount the Roller Blind: Carefully lift the roller blind assembly and attach it to the installed mounting brackets. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
- Install Side Cable Guides: Position the side cable guides vertically, ensuring they are aligned with the edges of the blind. Secure them to the wall or frame.
- Thread and Tension Cables: Thread the guide cables through the bottom rail and the tensioning mechanisms at the bottom of the side guides. Adjust the tension to keep the blind taut and prevent excessive swaying.
- Connect Power (Electric Models): If your blinds are electric, connect the power cable to the motor. Route the cable safely and connect it to a suitable power source. This step should ideally be performed by a qualified electrician.
- Test Operation: Before final adjustments, test the blind's operation using the remote control, wall switch, or crank handle. Ensure it moves smoothly up and down without obstruction.

Operating Instructions
Electric Operation (Motorized Models)
Your electric vertical blinds can be operated using a remote control or a wall-mounted switch.
- To Lower: Press the "DOWN" button on your remote or switch. The blind will descend to its programmed lower limit.
- To Raise: Press the "UP" button on your remote or switch. The blind will ascend to its programmed upper limit.
- To Stop: Press the "STOP" or "MIDDLE" button to halt the blind at any desired position.
- Programming Limits: Refer to the separate motor programming guide (if provided) for instructions on setting upper and lower limits, and intermediate stops.
Manual Operation (Crank Handle)
Some models may include a crank handle for manual operation or as a backup for electric models.
- To Lower/Raise: Insert the crank handle into the designated receiver on the roller mechanism. Turn the handle clockwise to lower the blind and counter-clockwise to raise it.
- Do not force the crank handle if you encounter resistance. Check for obstructions.

Maintenance
- Cleaning the Fabric: Wipe the Oxford sail material with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow to air dry completely before retracting.
- Inspecting Hardware: Periodically check all mounting brackets, screws, and cable tensioners for tightness and signs of corrosion or wear. Tighten any loose fasteners.
- Lubrication: Moving parts of the roller mechanism and motor (if accessible and recommended by manufacturer) may benefit from occasional lubrication with a silicone-based spray. Avoid lubricating the fabric.
- Cable Inspection: Ensure the guide cables are free from fraying or damage. Maintain proper tension to ensure smooth operation and prevent the blind from flapping in the wind.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Blind does not move (electric) | No power, remote battery dead, motor malfunction, obstruction. | Check power supply. Replace remote batteries. Inspect for obstructions. If motor malfunction, contact support. |
| Blind moves unevenly or gets stuck | Obstruction, uneven cable tension, damaged guide. | Clear any obstructions. Adjust cable tension evenly. Inspect guide rails for damage. |
| Blind makes unusual noise | Lack of lubrication, foreign object in mechanism, motor issue. | Lubricate moving parts (if applicable). Inspect for foreign objects. If motor noise persists, contact support. |
| Blind sways excessively in light wind | Insufficient cable tension. | Increase tension on the side guide cables. |
