1. Introduction

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Physical Setup

  1. Unfold the Scanner: Gently unfold the scanner arm from its folded position until it locks into the upright scanning position.
  2. Place the Scanning Mat: Lay the provided scanning mat flat on a stable surface. Ensure the mat is free of wrinkles and aligned correctly.
  3. Position the Scanner: Place the scanner unit on the designated area of the scanning mat, ensuring it is stable and centered.

3.2 Connecting to Your Computer

  1. Connect USB Cable: Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB interface on the scanner unit and the other end into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. Power On: The scanner typically draws power from the USB connection. Ensure your computer is powered on.

3.3 Software Installation

  1. Insert Software CD: Insert the provided software installation CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive. If your computer does not have a CD drive, please contact support for a download link.
  2. Run Installer: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the scanner's driver and application software.
  3. Restart (if prompted): Restart your computer if prompted to complete the installation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Scanning

  1. Launch Software: Open the NETUM scanning software on your computer.
  2. Place Document: Position the document, book, ID card, or other material flat on the scanning mat within the A3 or A4 marked areas. Ensure the material is as flat as possible for best results.
  3. Adjust Lighting: Use the LED lights on the scanner arm to provide adequate illumination. The scanner features 6 LEDs with 3 levels of fill light.
  4. Preview and Scan: Use the software's preview function to adjust the position and focus. Click the 'Scan' button to capture the image. The scanner offers high-speed scanning, typically around 1 second per page.

4.2 Advanced Features

  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR): The software supports OCR, allowing you to convert scanned images of text into editable formats such as Word, Excel, HTML, PDF, RTF, TXT, and CSV.
