1. Introduction

The ANENG B18 Highlight Voltage Test Pen is a multi-functional electrician's tool designed for safe and efficient electrical testing. It combines the utility of a voltage tester with a word/cross screwdriver, offering features such as Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) induction, live/neutral line recognition, and on-off circuit measurement. 2. Safety Information

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The ANENG B18 requires one 1.5V AAA battery (not included) for operation.

  1. Turn the test pen to the back side.
  2. Carefully open the battery compartment lid.
  3. Insert one 1.5V AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment lid securely.

6. Operating Instructions

The ANENG B18 is designed for ease of use with its intuitive LED indicators and multi-functional capabilities.

6.1 General Operation and Lighting Prompts

To activate the testing functions, touch the touch button on the device. The transparent cover allows for clear visibility of the LED indicators.

  • Blue Light (Induction): Indicates that a voltage is sensed (induced voltage).
  • Green Light (Low Voltage/Conduction): Indicates low voltage or line conduction (continuity).
  • Red Light (High Voltage): Flashing red light accompanied by a beep indicates high voltage.

6.2 NCV Voltage Induction

For non-contact voltage detection, hold the tester pen and touch the touch button with your finger. When an AC voltage is detected around the tip, the indicator light will turn blue.

6.3 Live/Neutral Line Recognition

To distinguish between live and neutral lines:

  • Insert the test pen into a socket or touch a wire.
  • If the indicator light is green and there is no beep, it recognizes the Neutral line.
  • If the indicator light is red and accompanied by a beep, it recognizes the Live line.

During the test, you need to keep touching the touch button.

6.4 On-Off Measurement (Continuity Test)

The device can detect line continuity. When testing a wire or component:

  • If the green indicator light is on, it indicates that the line is unobstructed (conducting).
  • If there is no response (no light), it indicates no conduction, suggesting a broken circuit.

This function is useful for checking fuses or identifying broken wires.

6.5 Breakpoint Detection

To locate breakpoints in a live wire, use the NCV function. Move the tip of the test pen along the insulated wire. The bright blue light will indicate the presence of voltage. Where the blue light stops illuminating, that point is likely the breakpoint in the line.

6.6 Screwdriver Function

The ANENG B18 features a durable nib that functions as both a Phillips and Slotted screwdriver. It is suitable for various tasks, including tightening screws in electrical panels or other applications requiring high torque.

6.8 Automatic Shutdown

The device features an automatic shutdown function. Simply leave it alone when you finish using it; there is no need for manual shutdown or other operations. This helps conserve battery life.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the test pen in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the AAA battery to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the 1.5V AAA battery when the device's performance degrades or indicators become dim.
