8. Troubleshooting (Q&A)

8.1 What is the Wi-Fi password for the CarPlay Wireless Adapter?

You do not need a Wi-Fi password. The device connects via Bluetooth first, and once Bluetooth matching is successful, Wi-Fi will automatically connect. Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi is turned on and not occupied by other connections when pairing.

8.2 After pairing, Android Auto does not start or the USB is not recognized.

  1. If this is the first time using Android Auto in your car, use a data cable to connect your phone and activate Android Auto through a wired method first.
  2. Ensure your Android Auto app on your phone is the latest version. If not, update it via the Google Play Store.
  3. If you previously connected an iPhone, disconnect the iPhone's Bluetooth connection, restart your Android phone's Bluetooth, and then attempt to connect Android Auto wirelessly.

8.3 Audio input or output issues (calls rejected, no sound, microphone not working, music interrupted).

  1. Check if your smartphone's Bluetooth is connected to other devices (e.g., earphones, smartwatches). If so, disconnect these devices or turn off their Bluetooth, then reconnect to your vehicle's Bluetooth for CarPlay/Android Auto.
  2. When on a call, verify that your "Audio" output option is set to CarPlay/Android Auto.

8.4 The adapter's indicator light remains on after the car is turned off.

Your car may not immediately cut off all power when turned off, so the adapter's light will take a while to go out. Its power consumption is minimal and will not drain the car battery.

8.5 Can my mobile phone use other internet Wi-Fi while using the adapter?

When using wireless Android Auto, the phone's Wi-Fi will be occupied by the adapter. Therefore, you cannot use other internet Wi-Fi simultaneously. You can only use your phone's SIM card for internet access.

8.6 Unable to automatically reconnect.

  1. Ensure your mobile phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions are turned on and Bluetooth is not occupied when you enter the car.
  2. Clear the pairing record on your phone, restart the phone, and then re-pair the adapter.

8.7 Can the adapter be paired with multiple phones?

The adapter can be paired with a maximum of five phones, but only one device can be connected at a time. To pair a new phone, cancel the current connection first. By default, the adapter's system will only auto-connect back to the last used phone.

8.8 Cannot find the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi of the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter.

  1. Ensure the adapter's power indicator light is on and it is securely plugged into the car's wired CarPlay/Android Auto port.
  2. If possible, test with another phone. If only a specific phone cannot find the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, try resetting that phone's network and Bluetooth settings, then restart the phone. If the problem persists across multiple phones, the adapter may be defective.

9. User Tips

  • Always ensure your car's wired CarPlay/Android Auto system is functional before connecting the adapter.
  • Keep your smartphone's operating system and the Android Auto app updated for optimal performance.
  • When experiencing connection issues, try clearing Bluetooth pairing records and restarting your phone.
  • For best results, avoid connecting other Bluetooth devices to your phone while using the adapter for CarPlay/Android Auto.
