Setup Guide
1. Unboxing and Package Contents
Before you begin, please ensure all items are present in the package:

2. Battery Installation and Charging
- Align the battery with the back of the radio and slide it into place until it clicks securely.
- To charge, connect the Type-C cable to the radio's charging port. You can charge via a wall adapter, car charger, power bank, or laptop.
3. Antenna Attachment
Screw the antenna clockwise onto the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
4. Initial Power On
Rotate the power/volume knob clockwise to turn on the radio. Adjust the knob to your desired volume level.
Operating Instructions
1. Display and Menu Navigation
The UV-16H PRO features a 1.77-inch TFT large screen and a full keyboard for easy menu operation. Use the arrow keys to navigate through menu options and the 'MENU' button to confirm selections.
2. Frequency Range and Multi-Band Operation
This radio supports a wide range of frequencies across multiple bands:
- FM: 65-108MHz (RX only)
- AM: 108-136MHz (RX only)
- VHF: 136-174MHz (RX/TX)
- UHF: 220-260MHz (RX/TX)
- UHF: 350-390MHz (RX only)
- UHF: 400-480MHz (RX/TX)
- UHF: 480-520MHz (RX only)
3. GPS Function
The UV-16H PRO includes a GPS positioning function for location sharing and acquisition (APRS function). This feature is compatible with YAESU (Transmit Only).
Important Note: In GPS mode, you can only view location information and cannot make normal calls. Voice intercom must exit GPS mode to proceed.
4. Wireless Copy Frequency
Utilize the one-touch search frequency feature for easy pairing and grouping by copying channel configuration parameters from another radio.
5. Scanner Function
The radio features a built-in scanner for VHF and UHF bands. In Frequency (VFO) mode, it scans according to your set frequency step. In Channel (MR) mode, it scans your programmed channels.
Scanner options include VFO scan range setting, three scan recovery methods, channel scan, CTC/DCS scan, and scan channel addition/removal.
6. VOX Hands-free Operation
The Voice Operated Exchange (VOX) function allows for hands-free transmission. VOX levels are adjustable to suit different environments and user preferences.
7. Channel Naming and Storage
The built-in input method allows you to edit channel names directly on the device. The radio supports 10 zones storage, with up to 640 named memory channels.
8. NOAA Weather Radio
For users in the United States and Canada, the radio can receive NOAA Weather Radio channels, providing important weather alerts.
9. Analog Signaling (DTMF, 2TONE, 5TONE, BDC1200)
The radio supports various analog signaling methods including DTMF, 2TONE, 5TONE, and BDC1200 codecs for enhanced communication and selective calling.
10. Alarm Function
The radio features an alarm function. If the radio falls to the ground and is not picked up within 5 seconds, an alarm code and tone will automatically be sent out to ask for help.
Note: You need to use the programming software to turn on the alarm function first.
11. Other Functions
- Dual Watch / Dual Reception: Monitor two different frequencies simultaneously.
- Squelch Adjustment: Ten (10) levels of squelch adjustment to filter out weak signals and noise.
- Roger Beep: An end-of-transmission tone to indicate when you have finished speaking.

- Programmable Repeater Offset: Configure for repeater use.
- Busy Channel Lock Out: Prevents transmission on an occupied channel.

3. Waterproof Rating
