1. Introduction

The DYNESS Powerbox G2 is a deep cycle, high-capacity Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery designed for household energy storage. It features improved safety, a long lifespan, and optimized user experience. With an IP65 rating, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor wall-mounted or floor-standing installations. A single unit provides up to 10 kWh of energy, and up to 12 units can be connected in parallel for superior performance, meeting diverse household electricity demands.

2. Safety Precautions

Always adhere to local electrical codes and safety regulations during installation and operation. Only qualified personnel should perform installation and maintenance. Ensure proper grounding and ventilation. Do not attempt to open or repair the battery unit yourself.

  • Keep away from flammable materials.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.
  • Do not expose to extreme temperatures outside the specified operating range.
  • In case of fire, the built-in fire suppression system will react within 5 seconds and automatically relieve pressure.

3. Installation and Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully unpack the Powerbox G2. Verify that all components are present and undamaged. The package typically includes the battery unit, connection cables, and mounting accessories.

3.2 Mounting Options

3.3 Electrical Connections

3.4 Parallel Expansion

The Powerbox G2 can be expanded by connecting up to 12 units in parallel, achieving a total capacity of 10.24 kWh to 409.6 kWh. It is compatible with Powerbox Pro and Power Depot H5B models. An LV Link B unit (IP65, 3 communication connectors) can access up to 3 units for expanded systems.

4. Operation

4.1 Smart App Management

The Powerbox G2 features smart app management for real-time system monitoring, smart control, and OTA (Over-The-Air) upgrades. There are two main app interfaces:

  • Inverter App: Communicates via the inverter, reading data from the storage BMS. Provides Battery System Real-time Running Data, Operation Status, and Historical Data.
  • Battery App: Direct network connection with the Dyness WiFi antenna. Provides Battery System Real-time Running Data, Operation Status, Historical Data, Battery Cell Voltage and balance, Battery Cell Temperature, Battery System Recycling Status, Remote Firmware Updating, and a one-click OTA function.

4.2 Charging and Discharging

The battery supports a 1C-Rate, allowing for rapid charging and discharging. It is designed for 95% Depth of Discharge (DOD) for unlimited cycles, maximizing usable energy and cost savings over its lifespan.

4.3 Automatic Self-Heating (Optional)

For cold environments, an optional automatic self-heating function ensures the battery charges properly at temperatures as low as -20°C. This feature adapts to ambient temperatures from -20°C to +55°C, with four heating pads ensuring even heating of each cell.

5. Maintenance

The Powerbox G2 is designed for minimal maintenance. Regular checks should include:

6. Troubleshooting

The integrated Smart BMS (Battery Management System) provides millisecond-level status monitoring and real-time battery management and optimization, offering multiple layers of protection:

  • Over charge/discharge protection
  • Over current protection
  • Over voltage protection
  • Over temperature protection
  • Short-circuit protection
