Introduction

The Ulanzi QT03 is a versatile 2-in-1 docking station designed to streamline your workspace by combining hard drive storage and multi-port expansion into one compact device. It supports M.2 NVMe SSDs up to 8TB, offers high-speed USB4 40Gbps data transfer, HDMI 4K60Hz video output, and various other connectivity options for phones, laptops, and tablets.

Setup Instructions

1. Package Contents

Please ensure all items are present in the package:

• Ulanzi QT03 Docking Station
• USB-C to USB-C Cable (for host connection)
• User Manual (this document)
• (Potentially) Screwdriver and screws for SSD installation

2. M.2 NVMe SSD Installation

The QT03 supports M.2 NVMe SSDs up to 8TB. Follow these steps to install your SSD:

1. Locate the SSD enclosure slot on the docking station.
2. Carefully open the enclosure cover (refer to the diagram for specific opening mechanism).
3. Insert your M.2 NVMe SSD into the slot, ensuring it is properly seated.
4. Secure the SSD with the provided screw (if applicable).
5. Close the enclosure cover.

Compatibility Note: The QT03 is compatible with M Key and B&M Key M.2 NVMe SSDs. It is NOT compatible with B Key SSDs. Supported sizes include 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280.

3. Connecting to a Host Device

Connect the QT03 to your laptop, tablet, or phone using the provided USB-C to USB-C cable. The docking station is plug-and-play for MacOS, Android, and HarmonyOS. For Windows and Linux, driver installation may be required (drivers are typically included or available for download from the manufacturer's website).

For laptops/tablets/phones, PD (Power Delivery) charging is recommended during use to ensure stable power supply, especially when multiple peripherals are connected or when using the SSD.

Operating Instructions

1. Port Functions

The QT03 offers a comprehensive set of ports for various connectivity needs:

• SD/TF 4.0 Card Slots: Read and write both SD and TF cards simultaneously with speeds up to 312MB/s. Supports cards up to 2TB.
• USB-A 3.2 (5Gbps): Connect standard USB devices like mice, keyboards, or USB drives.
• USB-A 3.2 (10Gbps): High-speed USB-A port for faster data transfer with compatible devices.
• USB-C 3.2 (10Gbps): High-speed USB-C port for data transfer.
• USB-C 3.2 (10Gbps / PD 20V/5A Max): This port supports both 10Gbps data transfer and Power Delivery (PD) up to 100W input (recommended) and 85W output for charging your host device and powering the docking station.
• USB-C Hub (USB4 40Gbps): The primary high-speed connection to your host device, supporting USB4 for up to 40Gbps data transfer.
• M.2 NVMe SSD Slot (40Gbps): Provides high-speed storage expansion with an installed M.2 NVMe SSD.
• HDMI 4K60Hz: Connect an external display for smooth high-definition visuals and dual-screen multitasking.
• 3.5mm Audio Jack: Connect a microphone or speakers for enhanced audio.

2. High-Speed Data Transfer

Leverage the USB4 40Gbps support for incredibly fast file transfers. The QT03 allows for read/write speeds of up to 3700MB/s, enabling you to transfer a 3GB file in approximately 1 second. This is significantly faster than USB 3.2 10Gbps connections.

3. LED Indicator

The LED indicator on the docking station provides status information:

• Solid Blue: The docking station is powered on.
• Flashing Blue: Data is being read from or written to the M.2 NVMe SSD.

Maintenance

1. Cooling System

The QT03 features an adjustable fan that can reach up to 8800 RPM for efficient cooling, ensuring stable data transfer even under heavy load. The aluminum bottom plate further aids in rapid heat dissipation. A ventilated mesh design promotes optimal airflow.

The fan operates silently at a distance of 30cm, minimizing noise disruption in your workspace.

2. Cleaning

To clean the docking station, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the device. Ensure the device is disconnected from power before cleaning.

User Tips

• SSD Storage: The QT03 supports M.2 NVMe SSDs up to 8TB for expanded storage, but the SSD itself is sold separately and not included with the docking station.
• Optimal Performance: For the best performance, especially with 40Gbps data transfer and multiple connected devices, ensure your host device has a compatible USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 port and use a high-quality USB4 cable.
• Power Supply: Always connect a 100W PD power adapter to the docking station's PD port when using power-intensive devices or charging your laptop/tablet through the docking station.
