Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ultrasonic cleaner:
- Regular Cleaning: After each use, empty the tank and wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the stainless steel.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- Storage: Store the cleaner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the tank is empty and dry before storage.
- Avoid Overfilling/Underfilling: Always ensure the liquid level is between the 'MIN' and 'MAX' marks to prevent damage to the transducer.
- Detachable Power Cord: The VGT-6250 features a detachable power cord for easier storage and maintenance. Always disconnect it when not in use or during cleaning.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ultrasonic cleaner, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Unit does not power on:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the unit and the power outlet.
- Ensure the power outlet is functional.
- Press the 'ON/OFF' button firmly.
- No ultrasonic action (no buzzing sound or visible cavitation):
- Ensure the tank is filled with liquid above the 'MIN' line.
- Verify that the 'ULTRASONIC' indicator is lit. If not, press the 'ULTRASONIC' button (if available as a separate control, otherwise it activates with timer).
- Check if the timer is set and running.
- Poor cleaning results:
- Ensure items are fully submerged and not overcrowded.
- Use an appropriate cleaning solution for the items being cleaned.
- Consider using the heating function (60°C) for enhanced cleaning.
- Activate the degas function to improve cavitation efficiency.
- Increase the cleaning time.
- Unit overheats or shuts off unexpectedly:
- The unit has a built-in cooling fan for stable operation. If it overheats, it may shut off automatically as a safety measure. Allow it to cool down before restarting.
- Ensure the cooling vents are not blocked.
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.
User Tips
- For delicate items or items that might scratch, consider placing them in a small mesh bag within the basket.
- Always use the cleaning basket to prevent items from directly contacting the tank bottom, which can reduce cleaning effectiveness and potentially damage the transducer.
- For heavily soiled items, a pre-soak or gentle scrub before ultrasonic cleaning can improve results.
- When cleaning multiple small items, ensure they are not stacked or touching each other excessively to allow ultrasonic waves to reach all surfaces.
- After cleaning, always rinse items thoroughly with clean water and dry them completely to prevent water spots or residue.
