1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your MAXPEEDINGRODS MXR5500 Portable Inverter Generator. Inverter generators are designed for operation-sensitive electrical devices, offering advantages over traditional generators such as quiet operation, lighter weight, smaller displacement, compact size, lower fuel consumption, and more stable voltage. The MXR5500 adapts its power output to the connected terminals, reducing energy consumption and operating noise.
The MXR5500 is a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, OHV engine portable inverter generator, ideal for quiet camping, RV use, home backup power, jobsites, construction, outdoor parties, garden courtyards, and outdoor weddings. Its parallel capability allows you to connect two generators in tandem with a power kit to increase power output. Wheels and handles are integrated for easy transportation.
2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety warnings before operating the generator. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
2.1 Carbon Monoxide Hazard
- DANGER: Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide. This is a poison you cannot see or smell.
- NEVER use inside a home or garage, EVEN IF doors and windows are open.
- Only use OUTSIDE and far away from windows, doors, and vents.
- Avoid other generator hazards. READ MANUAL BEFORE USE.
2.2 Electrical Hazards
- WARNING: Generator produces powerful voltage that can cause death or great physical harm.
- When using the generator for back-up power, notify the utility company.
- Use approved transfer equipment to isolate the generator from the electric utility.
- NEVER connect to a building's electrical system unless a transfer switch has been installed by a qualified electrician.
- NEVER touch bare wires or receptacles.
- NEVER use the generator with electrical cords that are worn, frayed, bare, or otherwise damaged.
- NEVER operate the generator in rain or snow, or when the generator is set on a wet surface.
2.3 General Safety Notes
- All Inverter generators are fully tested in the factory and may contain small amounts of residual oil or fuel.
- Applicable altitude: 5000ft or less. More than 5000ft will affect its stability and power.
- Optimum working ambient temperature of generator: 77 ℉ (25°C). Normal working temperature: 5°F to 104°F (-15°C to 40°C). If the generator is used below 5°F, its startability will be affected and it may be difficult to start. If the generator is used above 104°F, its power will be affected, the power will drop, and too high a temperature can be unsafe.
- Please make sure the engine is filled with full oil (add oil to the thread) before every starting, otherwise it will fail to work.
- This is a UK version and is not suitable for use in Europe.

4. Setup
4.1 Add Engine Oil
- Open the side panel of the generator.
- Unscrew the oil ruler.
- Using the provided oil funnel, add SAE 10W30 engine oil. The oil capacity is 850ml.
- Ensure the oil level does not exceed the 'H' (High) position on the oil ruler scale.
- Connect the battery wire for first use. Note: Disconnect the battery line if long storage is required.
- Cover the side panel securely.

4.2 Add Fuel
- Open the tank cap.
- Add E10 gasoline to the fuel tank.
- Do not exceed the red line of the filter screen inside the tank.

5. Operation
5.1 Starting Procedures
5.1.1 Electric Start
- Turn the oil switch to the "ON" position.
- Turn the main switch to the "ON" position.
- Press the 'ENGINE START/STOP' button for 2-3 seconds. The generator will start and run normally.
5.1.2 Recoil Start (Hand Start)
- Turn the oil switch to the "ON" position.
- Turn the main switch to the "ON" position.
- Quickly pull the starting handle until the engine starts.
5.1.3 Remote Start
- Turn the oil switch to the "ON" position.
- Turn the main switch to the "ON" position.
- Press the start button on the remote controller to start the generator.

5.2 Connecting Devices
Once the generator is running, you can connect your electrical devices to the available outlets:
- Plug AC devices into the 230V 32A or 230V 16A outlets.
- Plug USB devices into the 2 x USB ports.
- For 12V DC devices, use the DC 12V 8.3A outlet.

5.3 ECO Mode
The generator features an "ECO Mode" for improved fuel efficiency and reduced noise levels. When activated, the generator automatically adjusts its engine speed to match the load, consuming less fuel and operating more quietly when less power is required.
