  2. Power On: Press and hold the power button until the indicator lights illuminate.
  3. Access Web UI (Initial Setup):
    • Connect your device (phone, laptop) to the router's Wi-Fi network. The default WiFi Key (password) and Login IP (192.168.1.1) are typically found on a label on the back of the router.
    • Open a web browser on your connected device and enter the Login IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1).
    • Log in using the default username and password (usually admin for both, as indicated on the router's label).
  4. APN Settings: If the router does not connect to the internet automatically, you may need to configure the APN (Access Point Name) settings. Contact your SIM card provider for the correct APN profile. Enter the APN details in the Web UI settings and restart the router.
  5. Set Network Mode: In the Web UI, navigate to network settings and select the appropriate network mode (e.g., 5G NSA, 5G SA, or Auto) to ensure optimal signal and network channel usage.

Important Note: If your SIM card has a PIN code/lock, you must disable it using a mobile phone or by contacting your communication operator before inserting it into the router. Otherwise, the router will show 'no SIM' and will not connect to the network.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Connecting to WiFi

Once the router is powered on and has a stable network connection (indicated by the 4G/5G light), you can connect your devices:

  1. On your device (smartphone, laptop, tablet), search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Select the network name (SSID) corresponding to your Benton M500 (e.g., BT5G-E523-5G or BT5G-E523-2.4G).
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password (WiFi Key) found on the router's label.
  4. Your device should now be connected to the internet.

5.2. Dual Band WiFi

The Benton M500 supports dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5.8GHz) for flexible connectivity. You can select from three WiFi modes via the Web UI:

  • 2.4GHz only (300Mbps)
  • 5.8GHz only (867Mbps)
  • 2.4GHz + 5.8GHz (combined for optimal performance)

The 2.4GHz band offers wider coverage, while the 5.8GHz band provides faster speeds and less interference.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the router's exterior. Avoid using liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Temperature: The router is designed to operate within 0°C to 45°C. It is normal for the router case to become slightly warm or 'over-heat' after long-time usage, especially due to its Graphene cooling system.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No SIM Card Detected: If the router shows 'no SIM' or fails to connect to the network, ensure your Nano SIM card is inserted correctly and that any PIN code/lock has been disabled.
  • No Internet Connection:
    • Check the 4G/5G indicator light on the router.
    • Verify APN settings in the Web UI are correct for your SIM card provider.
    • Ensure your SIM card is active and has a data plan.
    • Restart the router.
  • Slow Speed / 4G Instead of 5G: The router will automatically switch to a 4G signal if the current 5G signal is too weak. It will reconnect to 5G when the signal strengthens. Note that advertised speeds (e.g., 1200Mbps, 600Mbps) are theoretical transmission rates; actual speeds may vary based on network conditions, signal strength, and environmental factors.
  • Device Overheating: A slight warming of the router case during prolonged use is normal due to its Graphene cooling system. If the device becomes excessively hot or malfunctions, discontinue use and contact support.
  • Country Compatibility: Be aware that 5G SIM cards may not work in all countries (e.g., Spain, Japan, Croatia for 5G network, only 4G works). For Saudi Arabia, only Mobily 5G SIM cards are supported. Special SIM cards like eSIM, IOT SIM, and Roaming SIM are generally not supported.
