5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Safety Precautions

  • Ensure the inverter is installed in a well-ventilated, dry, and cool environment, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.
  • Always connect the inverter to a battery system with the correct voltage (12V).
  • Verify correct polarity when connecting DC cables (Red to positive, Black to negative). Incorrect connection can damage the inverter and battery.
  • Do not open the inverter casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

5.2 Connecting the Inverter

  1. Connect DC Cables: Use the provided red and black DC cables. Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminal of your 12V battery and the positive (+) terminal of the inverter. Connect the black cable to the negative (-) terminal of your 12V battery and the negative (-) terminal of the inverter. Ensure connections are tight and secure.
  2. Connect Remote Controller:
    • Wired Connection: Plug the 16.4 ft remote cable into the "REMOTE" port on the inverter and the corresponding port on the 2-in-1 remote controller.
    • Wireless Connection: Insert the wireless receiver into the "REMOTE" port on the inverter. The 2-in-1 remote controller will then operate wirelessly.
  3. Connect AC Loads: Once the inverter is powered on, you can plug your AC devices into the 4 standard US outlets or use the hardwire port for higher power applications. USB and Type C devices can be connected to their respective ports.

6. Operation

6.1 Powering On/Off

  • To turn the inverter ON or OFF, press and hold the ON/OFF switch on the inverter or the remote controller for approximately 1-2 seconds. A short press will not activate or deactivate the inverter.

6.2 Remote Controller Usage

  • The remote controller's LCD screen will enter sleep mode after about 10 seconds of inactivity to conserve power.
  • To wake up the LCD screen, short press the ON/OFF switch on the remote controller.

6.3 Monitoring with LCD Display

  • The dual LCD display on both the inverter and the remote controller provides critical information:
    • Battery level indicator
    • DC input voltage (e.g., 12.5V)
    • AC output voltage (e.g., 120V)
    • AC output frequency (60Hz)
    • Current output power (in Watts)
    • Output waveform (Pure Sine Wave icon)
  • Pay attention to any alarm signals displayed, which indicate potential issues requiring attention.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the inverter clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings on the inverter are not blocked. Proper airflow is crucial for efficient cooling.
  • Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections (DC input cables, AC output cables) to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion. Loose connections can lead to power loss or overheating.
  • Fan Operation: The smart cooling fan will run when needed. Ensure it is not obstructed and listen for any unusual noises during operation.
  • Fuse Replacement: If a fuse blows, replace it with a fuse of the same type and rating. Refer to the specifications for correct fuse type.

8. Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

Inverter not turning on:
  • Ensure DC input cables are correctly connected with proper polarity and are secure.
  • Check if the battery voltage is within the operating range (10.5V - 15.5V).
  • Confirm that the ON/OFF switch is pressed and held for 1-2 seconds to power on.
  • Check for blown fuses.
No AC output:
  • Verify the inverter is powered on and the LCD display is active.
  • Check if the connected AC load exceeds the inverter's rated power (3500W continuous) or surge power (7000W).
  • Ensure AC devices are properly plugged into the outlets.
  • Check for any fault indicators or alarm signals on the LCD.
Overload protection triggered:
  • Reduce the total wattage of connected AC devices.
  • For inductive loads (e.g., motors, refrigerators), remember they require 2-10 times their rated power for startup. Ensure the inverter's surge power can handle this.
  • Restart the inverter after reducing the load.
Over-heat protection triggered:
  • Ensure the inverter is in a well-ventilated area and its cooling fan is not obstructed.
  • Allow the inverter to cool down before restarting.
  • Reduce the load if operating near maximum capacity in high ambient temperatures.
Inverter can be used with solar systems or lithium batteries:
  • Yes, this 3500W inverter is compatible with 12V solar systems and various battery types, including lithium batteries, as long as the battery system's voltage remains within the inverter's working voltage range (10.5V - 15.5V).

9. User Tips

  • Optimal Performance: For prolonged use and to extend the inverter's lifespan, it is recommended to operate the inverter at 80% or less of its continuous rated power (i.e., 2800W or less).
  • Load Matching: When selecting an inverter, consider the type of load. For resistive loads (e.g., heaters, incandescent lights), choose an inverter with a rated power slightly higher than the load. For inductive loads (e.g., refrigerators, pumps, power tools), select a pure sine wave inverter with a rated power 2-10 times the load's rated power to account for startup surges.
  • Battery Voltage: Always monitor your battery's voltage to ensure it stays within the inverter's operational range (10.5V - 15.5V) to prevent under-voltage shutdowns or damage.
  • Remote Convenience: Utilize the wireless remote control for convenience, especially when the inverter is installed in a hard-to-reach location. Remember to long-press the ON/OFF button to power the inverter on or off.
