5. Initial Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the machine and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the machine on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine.
- Water Tank: Remove the water tank, rinse it thoroughly, and fill it with fresh, filtered water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line. Reinsert the tank securely.
- First Use Flush: Before first use, or after a period of inactivity, perform a flush cycle. Fill the water tank, turn on the machine, and allow it to heat up. Run water through the group head and steam wand without coffee to clean the internal components.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the machine's requirements (220V/50Hz or 110V/60Hz).
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Brewing Espresso
- Preheat: Turn on the machine and allow it to preheat for approximately 15 minutes. The display will show the target brewing temperature (e.g., 93°C).
- Prepare Portafilter: Grind fresh coffee beans to an espresso-fine consistency. Fill the filter basket with the desired amount of ground coffee (e.g., 7g for single, 14g for double). Tamp evenly with the provided tamper.
- Insert Portafilter: Wipe any excess grounds from the rim of the portafilter. Insert the portafilter into the group head and twist firmly to secure it.
- Place Cup: Place your espresso cup(s) under the portafilter spouts.
- Start Extraction: Press the desired brew button (single or double shot). The machine will automatically pre-infuse and extract the espresso.
- Monitor Extraction: A typical espresso shot should take 25-30 seconds for a double shot. Adjust grind size and tamp pressure if extraction is too fast or too slow.
- Remove Portafilter: Once brewing is complete, carefully remove the portafilter, discard the spent coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter.

6.2 Steaming Milk
- Prepare Milk: Fill the milk pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Activate Steam: Turn on the steam function. Allow the steam wand to purge any condensed water by opening the steam valve briefly into the drip tray.
- Froth Milk: Submerge the tip of the 3-hole steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam valve fully. Position the wand to create a whirlpool effect, incorporating air for texture.
- Monitor Temperature: Use the automatic preset milk frothing temperature feature or a thermometer to reach the desired milk temperature (typically 60-65°C / 140-150°F).
- Stop Steaming: Close the steam valve and remove the pitcher. Wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Purge the steam wand again to clear any internal milk.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Daily Cleaning
- Portafilter & Filter Baskets: After each use, remove spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under hot water.
- Group Head: Use a cleaning brush to remove any coffee grounds from the group head gasket and shower screen. Perform a backflush with the blind filter (without detergent) daily.
- Steam Wand: Wipe immediately after each use. Purge steam to clear any milk residue.
- Drip Tray & Water Tank: Empty and rinse the drip tray and water tank daily.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
7.2 Weekly Cleaning (Backflushing with Detergent)
- Insert the blind filter into the portafilter and add a small amount of espresso machine cleaning detergent.
- Lock the portafilter into the group head.
- Activate the brew cycle for 10 seconds, then stop for 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
- Remove the portafilter, rinse it, and repeat the backflush process with clean water (no detergent) to rinse thoroughly.
7.3 Descaling
The frequency of descaling depends on your water hardness. It is recommended every 1-3 months. Use a commercial descaling solution designed for espresso machines and follow the product's instructions carefully. Descaling helps prevent mineral buildup and maintains machine performance.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow from group head | Water tank empty; pump airlock; clogged group head. | Refill water tank; prime pump by running hot water; clean group head. |
| Espresso extracts too fast | Coffee ground too coarse; insufficient coffee; tamping too light. | Grind finer; increase coffee dose; tamp more firmly. |
| Espresso extracts too slow or not at all | Coffee ground too fine; too much coffee; tamping too hard. | Grind coarser; reduce coffee dose; tamp lighter. |
| No steam or weak steam | Steam boiler not heated; steam wand clogged; low water level. | Allow machine to heat up; clean steam wand; refill water tank. |
| Machine not turning on | No power; faulty power cord/outlet. | Check power connection; try a different outlet; contact support if issue persists. |
