6. Installation
The Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor offers flexible installation options:
- Effective Range Test: Before final placement, single press the reset button on the accessory at your desired position. If the Hub makes voice prompts like "Normal link confirmed", it indicates that the accessory can communicate effectively with the Hub. Avoid metal surfaces to maximize signal strength.
- Option 1: Direct Placement
Place the sensor directly in the desired position on a flat surface. - Option 2: Adhesive Mounting
Remove the protective film from the back of the sensor and stick it to the desired position. Ensure the surface is clean and dry for optimal adhesion.

7. Operation
Once installed and connected, the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor provides real-time data and enables smart home automations:
7.1 Real-time Data Monitoring
The sensor continuously monitors temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure. This data is accessible through the Aqara Home app or Apple Home app. You can view current readings and historical data trends.

7.2 Smart Home Automation
Integrate the sensor with other Aqara smart accessories to create automated scenes and enhance your home comfort and security. Automations associated with this product will continue to work even if Wi-Fi is unstable, as long as the Hub is powered.
- Temperature/Humidity Alerts: Set custom thresholds in the app. If the room temperature or humidity goes above or below these thresholds, the sensor can send a push notification to your phone.
- Automatic Humidifier Control: Combine the sensor with an Aqara Hub and Smart Plug. When humidity drops below a set level, the Smart Plug can automatically turn on a connected humidifier.

8. Maintenance: Battery Replacement
The Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor uses a CR2032 button cell battery, which typically lasts for up to 2 years. When the battery needs replacement, follow these steps:
- Prepare: Obtain a new CR2032 battery and a coin.
- Open Cover: Align the coin with the small dent on the battery cover on the back of the sensor. Rotate the battery cover counter-clockwise until you hear a "click" sound, then remove it.
- Remove Old Battery: Carefully remove the existing CR2032 battery.
- Insert New Battery: Place the new CR2032 button cell battery into the battery slot. Ensure the positive (+) side of the battery faces upwards.
- Close Cover: Align the battery cover with the bottom of the sensor. Use the coin to rotate the battery cover clockwise until you hear a "click" sound, indicating it is securely attached.

9. Troubleshooting
- Connection Failure: If the sensor fails to connect to the Hub during setup, try moving the accessory closer to the Hub and attempt the pairing process again.
- Signal Strength Issues: To ensure optimal signal strength and reliable communication with the Hub, avoid placing the sensor on or near large metal surfaces.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the sensor is placed in a location that accurately represents the ambient conditions you wish to monitor, away from direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources.
- Region Compatibility: The Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor is designed for global use and is compatible with Mi Home and Apple HomeKit apps. However, certain integrated accessories, like the Aqara Air Conditioning Controller, may have regional limitations (e.g., mainland China only). The sensor itself will function globally with a compatible hub.
10. User Tips
- Optimal Placement: For the most accurate readings, place the sensor in a central location within the room, away from windows, doors, heating/cooling vents, or direct sunlight.
- Baby Room Monitoring: The sensor is ideal for monitoring conditions in a baby's room, providing timely alerts to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
- Battery Life: To maximize battery life, ensure the sensor is within effective range of the Hub and avoid frequent manual resets unless necessary.
