1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Information

  • Do not open the casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

6. Setup Guide

6.1 Power Connection

  1. Locate the USB Type-C power input on the side of the mixer.
  2. Connect the provided USB power cable to the mixer.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a 5V USB power source (e.g., a computer USB port, a USB wall adapter, or a power bank). Ensure the power source can provide sufficient current for stable operation.

6.2 Connecting Audio Devices

Before connecting any devices, ensure the mixer's main output and channel level controls are set to their minimum positions to prevent sudden loud noises.

6.2.1 Microphones

  1. For dynamic microphones, connect an XLR cable to the MIC/LINE input (1 or 2).
  2. For condenser microphones, connect an XLR cable to the MIC/LINE input (1 or 2). Press the +48V PHANTOM POWER switch to supply power. The indicator light will illuminate.

6.2.2 Line-Level Instruments/Devices

  1. Connect instruments (e.g., keyboards, guitars with preamps) or other line-level devices using 6.35mm (1/4 inch) cables to the MIC/LINE inputs (1 or 2).
  2. For stereo line-level devices, use RCA cables to connect to the IN L/R (3/4) inputs.

6.3 Output Connections

  1. Main Output: Connect the OUT-L (BALANCED) OUT-R XLR outputs to your main speakers, power amplifier, or recording interface. Alternatively, use the 6.35mm outputs.
  2. Headphones: Plug your headphones into the PHONES jack.

6.4 USB Connection to Computer

  1. Connect a USB cable from the mixer's USB port to your computer.
  2. Set the MP3/PC Mode Switch to 'PC'.
  3. The mixer will be recognized as an audio interface by your computer. You may need to select it as the input/output device in your operating system's sound settings or your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software.

6.5 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Press the 'BT' button in the U-DISK section. The Bluetooth indicator will flash, indicating pairing mode.
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), search for available devices and select 'BMG-04D'.
  3. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid. You can now stream audio wirelessly to the mixer.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Basic Mixing

  1. Power On: Ensure all connections are secure and volume controls are at minimum. Power on the mixer.
  2. Adjust Gain: For each active channel (1, 2, or 3/4), slowly increase the GAIN knob until the PEAK indicator flashes only occasionally during the loudest parts of the signal. If it stays lit, the signal is too hot; reduce gain.
  3. Adjust EQ: Use the HIGH and LOW EQ knobs to shape the tone of each channel. Turn clockwise to boost frequencies, counter-clockwise to cut them.
  4. Apply Effects: Turn the EFF knob on channels 1 or 2 to send signal to the DSP effects processor. Adjust the overall effect volume with the FX VOL knob.
  5. Set Channel Levels: Use the LEVEL knobs for channels 1, 2, and the 3/4 MP3/USB Level knob to balance the volume of each input source.
  6. Main Output Volume: Slowly increase the MAIN OUT volume control to achieve the desired overall output level.
  7. Headphone Monitoring: Adjust the PHONES volume control for comfortable monitoring through headphones.

7.2 DSP Effects

The BMG-04D features 99 built-in DSP effects. To select an effect:

  1. Press the MODE button in the U-DISK section until the DSP display shows the effect number.
  2. Turn the REPEAT/FX VOL knob to cycle through the effect numbers (01-99).
  3. Once the desired effect is displayed, it is active.

7.3 USB Playback and Recording

7.3.1 USB Flash Drive (U-DISK) Playback

  1. Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 audio files into the USB port.
  2. Set the MP3/PC Mode Switch to 'MP3'.
  3. Use the Play/Pause, Previous, Next, and REPEAT buttons in the U-DISK section to control playback.

7.3.2 USB Flash Drive (U-DISK) Recording

  1. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port.
  2. Set the MP3/PC Mode Switch to 'MP3'.
  3. Press the REC button in the U-DISK section to start recording the main mix to the USB flash drive. Press again to stop.

7.3.3 Computer Recording/Playback

  1. Connect the mixer to your computer via USB and set the MP3/PC Mode Switch to 'PC'.
  2. In your computer's sound settings or DAW, select the mixer as the audio input/output device.
  3. You can now record the mixer's main output to your computer or play audio from your computer through the mixer.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the mixer. Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the mixer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Management: Avoid bending or crimping cables excessively. Store cables neatly to prevent damage.
  • Dust Protection: Keep the mixer covered when not in use to prevent dust accumulation, especially in the faders and knobs.

9. Troubleshooting
