5. Setup

5.1 Wiring Connections

Carefully connect your power source and load to the module's terminals as shown in Figure 3.3. Ensure correct polarity:

  • IN+: Positive input from your power source.
  • IN-: Negative input from your power source.
  • OUT+: Positive output to your load.
  • OUT-: Negative output to your load.

Tighten the screw terminals securely to prevent loose connections.

5.2 Initial Power-Up

After wiring, apply power to the input terminals. The LCD display will light up, showing the current output voltage and current. The 'ON' indicator LED will illuminate if the output is active.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

  • Power ON/OFF: Press the 'ON/OFF' button to enable or disable the output. The 'ON' LED indicates active output.
  • Display Switching: Short press the 'SW' button to cycle through different display parameters: output voltage (V), output current (A), output power (W), accumulated capacity (Ah), accumulated time (h), and module temperature.
  • Input/Output Display: Short press the 'U/I' button to switch between displaying the input voltage and the output voltage.
  • Adjusting Output Voltage/Current: Rotate the rotary encoder to adjust the output voltage or current. A short press of the rotary encoder will switch between voltage and current adjustment modes.

6.2 Setting Protection Parameters

The module includes several protection features that can be configured:

  1. Enter Setting Mode: Long press the 'SW' button until the display shows a protection parameter (e.g., 'SET LUP').
  2. Navigate Parameters: Short press the 'SW' button to cycle through the protection parameters:
    • LUP (Input Undervoltage Protection): Default 5.8V.
    • OVP (Output Overvoltage Protection): Default 36V.
    • OCP (Output Overcurrent Protection): Default 5A.
    • OPP (Output Overpower Protection): Default 80W.
    • OTP (Over-Temperature Protection): Default 110°C.
    • OAP (Timeout Protection): Default OFF.
    • OHP (Over-Capacity Protection): Default OFF.
  3. Adjust Value: When the desired parameter is displayed, rotate the encoder to adjust its value.
  4. Confirm Setting: Press the rotary encoder to confirm the new value.
  5. Exit Setting Mode: Long press the 'SW' button again to exit the setting mode and return to normal operation.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the module. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
  • Fan Operation: The intelligent temperature-controlled fan will automatically activate when the module's temperature exceeds 50°C or the output current exceeds 1A. Ensure the fan vents are not obstructed to allow for proper airflow.
  • Storage: Store the module in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Display/No Power: Check input power connections and ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (6.0-36V). Verify the power source is functioning correctly.
  • Output Not Active: Ensure the 'ON/OFF' button has been pressed to enable the output. Check if any protection mechanisms (OVP, OCP, OPP, etc.) have been triggered.
  • Incorrect Output Voltage/Current: Verify settings using the rotary encoder. Ensure the load is within the module's capabilities.
  • Module Overheating: Check for obstructions around the fan and heatsink. Reduce the load or ensure the ambient temperature is not excessively high. The fan should activate automatically under load.
  • Protection Triggered: If a protection (e.g., OVP, OCP) is triggered, the output will shut off. Identify the cause (e.g., excessive load, incorrect voltage setting) and correct it before re-enabling the output.

9. User Tips

  • Utilize the LCD display to continuously monitor all critical parameters (voltage, current, power, capacity, time, temperature) for optimal control and safety.
  • Carefully adjust the protection limits (LUP, OVP, OCP, OPP, OTP, OAP, OHP) to match your specific application requirements and prevent damage to sensitive components.
  • For applications requiring sustained high power, ensure the module is placed in an environment with good airflow to assist the intelligent cooling fan.
  • The soft start feature helps protect connected loads during power-up, but be mindful of very high power loads that might still cause issues.
