4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Mounting the Controller
The J-09 controller features a magnetic design for easy installation. Simply place the controller on any flat metal surface inside your PC case. Ensure it is in a location that allows for proper cable routing and airflow.

Figure 4: The magnetic design allows for convenient placement within the PC case.
4.2 Wiring Connections
Refer to the wiring diagram below for detailed connection instructions. Pay close attention to voltage requirements for ARGB and PWM ports.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided SATA power cable from your PC's power supply unit (PSU) to the 'POWERIN' port on the controller.
- PWM Fan Connections: Connect your 4-pin PWM fans to the 'PWM' ports on the controller. The controller supports up to 9 PWM fans.
- Important: Connect a fan to the 'RED PWM FAN PORT' first. Ensure that the fan port input is 12V.
- ARGB Device Connections: Connect your 3-pin 5V ARGB devices (e.g., ARGB fans, LED strips) to the 'ARGB' ports on the controller. The controller supports up to 9 ARGB devices.
- Important: Ensure that the ARGB port input is 5V. Connecting 12V ARGB devices to a 5V header can cause damage.
- Motherboard Synchronization (Optional): If your motherboard supports 5V ARGB synchronization (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, ASRock Polychrome Sync), connect the provided 5V-3Pin or 5V-VDG MB sync cable from the controller's 'M/B' port to the corresponding ARGB header on your motherboard. If your motherboard does not support ARGB sync, you do not need to connect this cable.
- Front Panel Reset Button (Optional): To use your PC's restart button to switch lighting modes, connect the front panel reset cable (FP) from your PC case to the 'RESET' port on the controller.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Remote Control Functions
The J-09 controller comes with a wireless remote control for easy management of your ARGB lighting and fan speed. Ensure the controller is powered on before using the remote.

Figure 6: Diagram of the wireless remote control and its functions.
- On: Turns on the lights and activates demo mode.
- Off: Turns off the lights.
- AUTO: Activates automatic cycling through various lighting effects.
- M/B Sync: Switches between remote control mode and motherboard synchronization mode.
- S+ / S-: Adjusts light speed (dynamic modes) or brightness (static modes). There are 8 levels of brightness.
- M+ / M-: Cycles through different lighting modes.
- Monochrome Shortcut Buttons: Directly select a static color from the colored buttons (red, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, white, orange, pink, light blue, dark green, dark purple).
- Fan Speed Reduction: (Indicated by a snowflake icon) Reduces fan speed.
- Enhanced Light Brightness: (Indicated by a sun icon) Increases light brightness in static mode.
- Reduced Light Brightness: (Indicated by a dim sun icon) Reduces light brightness in static mode.
5.2 Front Panel Reset Button Control (Optional)
If you have connected your PC's front panel reset button to the controller's 'RESET' port, you can press this button to cycle through the available lighting modes without using the remote control.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Keep the controller and remote control clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Environment: Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Disassembly: Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the controller or remote control. This may void your warranty and could cause damage to the device or other components.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power/Lights:
- Ensure the SATA power cable is securely connected to both the controller and a working power supply unit.
- Verify that your PC's power supply is turned on.
- Press the 'On' button on the remote control.
- Fans Not Spinning/Controlling:
- Check that all PWM fans are correctly and securely connected to the PWM ports on the controller.
- Confirm that a fan is connected to the 'RED PWM FAN PORT' first, as this port often acts as the primary signal source.
- Ensure your fans are 12V PWM fans, compatible with the controller's output.
- ARGB Lights Not Working/Syncing:
- Verify that all ARGB devices are correctly and securely connected to the 5V ARGB ports on the controller.
- Ensure your ARGB devices are 5V 3-pin ARGB. Connecting 12V 4-pin RGB devices will not work and may cause damage.
- If using motherboard synchronization, ensure the 'M/B Sync' button on the remote is pressed and the ARGB sync cable is properly connected to your motherboard's 5V ARGB header. Check your motherboard's ARGB software settings.
- Remote Control Not Responding:
- Check the battery in the remote control and replace if necessary.
- Ensure there are no physical obstructions between the remote control and the controller.
- Try pressing the 'On' button on the remote again.
8. User Tips
- Always double-check the voltage requirements for your ARGB devices (5V) and fans (12V) before connecting to avoid damage to your components or the controller.
- For optimal cable management and aesthetics, plan your fan and ARGB connections and cable routing before permanently mounting the controller inside your PC case.
- If you are utilizing motherboard synchronization, ensure your motherboard's ARGB software is updated to the latest version for the best compatibility and control experience.
- When connecting multiple fans, consider connecting the CPU cooler fan to the dedicated CPU_FAN header on your motherboard for critical temperature monitoring, and then connect other case fans to the J-09 controller.
