Terminal Connections:

Terminal Numbers Function Description
1, 2 AL-OUT Alarm Output (Normally Open, Common)
3, 4, 5 RESET (计时触发) Timing Trigger Input (Normally Open, Common, Normally Closed)
6, 7, 8 TC + Temperature Sensor Input (B, A, +)
9, 10 85-265VAC Main Power Supply Input
11, 12 SSR + Solid State Relay Output (Normally Open, Common)
13, 14 OUT1 Output 1 (Normally Closed, Normally Open)
15, 16 OUT2 Output 2 (Normally Open, Common)

WARNING: Ensure all wiring is done by a qualified professional and adheres to local electrical codes. Disconnect power before making any connections.

5. Operation

The TREX-CT401B allows for setting both temperature and time parameters. The specific programming steps may vary based on the configured output modes (V-SSR, Timing Relay, Auxiliary Relay).

5.1 Basic Parameter Setting

  1. Power On: Connect the device to the power supply (85-265VAC). The PV and SV displays will light up.
  2. View Current Values: The PV display shows the current measured temperature, and the SV display shows the current set temperature or time.
  3. Enter Setting Mode: Press and hold the SET button for a few seconds to enter the parameter setting mode. The SV display will show the first programmable parameter.
  4. Navigate Parameters: Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to scroll through different parameters (e.g., set temperature, timing duration, alarm limits, control modes).
  5. Adjust Values: When the desired parameter is displayed, press the SET button briefly to select it. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to adjust the value.
  6. Confirm and Exit: Press the SET button again to confirm the new value and move to the next parameter. To exit the setting mode and save changes, press and hold the SET button for a few seconds until the device returns to normal operation.

5.2 Temperature Control

Set the desired temperature using the SV parameter. The device will activate OUT1 (or SSR+) to maintain the PV at the SV, based on the configured control mode (e.g., PID, ON/OFF).

5.3 Timing Function

If configured for timing output, set the desired duration (in seconds, minutes, or hours) using the relevant timing parameter. The timing function can be triggered via the RESET input (Terminals 3, 4, 5) or other programmed conditions.

5.4 Auto-Tuning (AT)

If your model supports auto-tuning, activate it from the parameter settings. The AT indicator will light up, and the controller will automatically determine optimal PID parameters for stable temperature control. This process may involve temporary temperature fluctuations.

6. Maintenance

The SKG TREX-CT401B is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. However, regular checks can help ensure its longevity and performance.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the front panel with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Connections: Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Environment: Ensure the operating environment is within the specified temperature and humidity ranges to prevent damage.
  • Calibration: If temperature readings appear inaccurate, professional calibration may be required.

WARNING: Disconnect power to the device before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your TREX-CT401B meter.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No display/Power off No power supply; Incorrect wiring Check power connections (Terminals 9, 10) and ensure voltage is within 85-265VAC. Verify wiring against Figure 4.1.
PV display shows 'HHHH' or 'LLLL' Temperature sensor open circuit or short circuit; Sensor type mismatch Check temperature sensor wiring (Terminals 6, 7, 8). Ensure the sensor is correctly connected and not damaged. Verify the sensor type configured in the meter matches the connected sensor.
Output not activating Incorrect set value; Output mode misconfiguration; Wiring issue Check SV and ensure it's within the operating range. Verify the main and auxiliary output modes are correctly set. Inspect output wiring (SSR+, OUT1, OUT2).
Temperature unstable/overshoots PID parameters not optimized Perform auto-tuning (AT function) to optimize PID parameters for your specific system.
Timing function not working Timing mode misconfigured; Trigger input issue Verify the timing unit (S, M, H) and mode are correctly set. Check the RESET input wiring and trigger signal.

If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.

8. User Tips

  • For critical applications, always test the temperature and timing accuracy after initial setup and any parameter changes.
  • Consider using the auto-tuning function for optimal temperature stability, especially after changing the heating element or process load.
  • Keep a record of your parameter settings for quick reference or restoration.

9. Warranty and Support

For warranty information, technical support, or service inquiries, please refer to the documentation provided with your purchase or contact your retailer. Ensure you have your product model number (TREX-CT401B) and any relevant purchase details available when seeking support.
