5.3 App and Network Setup

  1. Download the Tuya Smart app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register or log in to your Tuya account.
  3. Power on the V6 unit. It should enter pairing mode (refer to the device's LED indicator for status).
  4. In the Tuya app, tap '+' to add a new device. Select 'Security & Video Surveillance' -> 'Smart Door Lock' or 'Access Control'.
  5. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the V6 to your 2.4GHz WiFi network.
  6. Once connected, you can manage users, add face data, RFID cards, and PINs through the app.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Unlocking Methods

  • Face Recognition: Stand in front of the unit, ensuring your face is within the camera's view. The system will automatically recognize and unlock.
  • RFID Card: Present your registered EM or Mifare card within 1-3 cm of the card reader area.
  • PIN Code: Enter your 4-6 digit PIN code on the touch keypad, followed by '#'.
  • Smartphone App: Use the Tuya Smart app to remotely unlock the door.

6.2 User Management via App

Through the Tuya Smart app, you can:

  • Add new users and assign them face, card, or PIN access.
  • Delete existing users.
  • Set time restrictions for specific users or access methods.
  • Generate one-time or cycle temporary passwords for visitors.

6.3 Virtual Cryptography (Anti-Peeping)

When entering your PIN, you can input random digits before and after your actual PIN to prevent others from guessing your code. For example, if your PIN is '123456', you can enter '987123456321#'. The system will only recognize the correct sequence within the longer input.

6.4 Doorbell Function

Visitors can press the doorbell button on the unit. You will receive a notification on your Tuya Smart app, allowing you to communicate with the visitor or grant access remotely.

6.5 Door Keep Open Mode

This mode allows the door to remain unlocked for a specified period. Activate or deactivate this feature via the Tuya Smart app or through specific keypad commands (refer to app or advanced settings for details).

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the unit's surface, especially the camera lens and keypad, with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the Tuya Smart app periodically for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Power Supply: Ensure a stable 12-18V DC power supply. Unstable power can affect performance.
  • Wiring Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Check the power supply connections and ensure the voltage is within the specified range (12-18V DC).
  • Cannot connect to WiFi: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. Verify the WiFi password and signal strength. Try resetting the device to pairing mode.
  • Face recognition not working: Ensure the camera lens is clean and unobstructed. Check lighting conditions; extreme backlight or darkness can affect performance. Re-enroll face data if necessary.
  • RFID card not recognized: Ensure the card is compatible (EM+Mifare) and properly enrolled in the system. Present the card within the read range (1-3 cm).
  • Keypad unresponsive: Check for any physical damage or debris on the touch keypad. Ensure the unit is receiving adequate power.
  • Door not unlocking: Verify the lock mechanism is functioning correctly. Check the relay output wiring and settings in the app.
  • App notifications not received: Ensure the Tuya Smart app has notification permissions enabled on your smartphone and that your phone has an active internet connection.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal face recognition, ensure your face is well-lit and directly facing the camera during enrollment and use.
  • Regularly update your PINs and temporary passwords for enhanced security.
  • Utilize the virtual cryptography feature to protect your PIN from prying eyes, especially in public or semi-public installations.
  • Keep a backup method of entry (e.g., a spare RFID card or a master PIN) in a secure location in case of smartphone or network issues.

10. Warranty and Support

For warranty information, technical support, or service inquiries, please contact the seller or manufacturer directly. Keep your purchase receipt as proof of purchase.
