Setup
Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove the power supply from its packaging.
- Inspect the unit for any signs of physical damage. If damaged, do not operate and contact customer support.
- Verify that all accessories listed in the packing list are present.
Power Connection
- Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position.
- Connect the provided power cord to the AC input on the rear panel of the power supply and then to a suitable AC power outlet.
Initial Power On
- Flip the power switch to the ON position. The display should illuminate, showing the default voltage and current settings.
Operating Instructions
Adjusting Voltage and Current
- Use the CURRENT and VOLTAGE encoder knobs for each channel (CH1, CH2) to adjust the desired output values.
- Encoder Knob Function: Press the encoder knob to switch between digits (e.g., units, tens, hundreds). Rotate the knob to adjust the value of the selected digit between 0 and 9.
Output Control
- Press the OUTPUT button for each channel (CH1, CH2) to turn the output ON or OFF. It is recommended to set voltage/current values before enabling output.
Operating Modes (Independent, Series, Parallel)
The SPPS-2KD series offers three main operating modes:
- Independent Mode (INDEP):
- Each channel operates independently.
- Press the INDEP button to activate this mode.
- Example (SPPS605-2KD): Two independent 0-60V, 0-5A outputs.
- Series Output Mode (SER):
- Combines the voltage of both channels while maintaining the current of a single channel.
- Press the SER button to activate this mode.
- Example (SPPS605-2KD): Single output 0-120V, 0-5A.
- Parallel Output Mode (PAR):
- Combines the current of both channels while maintaining the voltage of a single channel.
- Press the PAR button to activate this mode.
- Example (SPPS605-2KD): Single output 0-60V, 0-10A.
Data Storage and Recall
- The power supply supports 8 data sets for quick recall.
- For Channel 1, use M1 and M2 buttons to store and recall settings.
- For Channel 2, use M3 and M4 buttons to store and recall settings.
- In Series and Parallel modes, M1/M2 can be used to store data. Data stored in different modes with the same memory key will not be mixed.
Protection Functions (OCP/OVP)
- Over Current Protection (OCP): Press the OCP button to activate. Set the rated current value. If the output current exceeds this value, the power supply will automatically turn off the output to protect the load.
- Over Voltage Protection (OVP): Press the OVP button to activate. Set the rated voltage value. If the output voltage exceeds this value, the power supply will automatically turn off the output to protect the load.
Panel Lock and Mute Function
- Panel Lock: Press the Lock button (padlock icon) to prevent accidental changes to settings during operation.
- Mute Function: Press the Mute button (speaker icon) to turn off the button sound for a quiet working environment.
Maintenance
- Keep the power supply clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating. Do not block the ventilation openings.
- Avoid operating the device in environments with excessive moisture, extreme temperatures, or corrosive gases.
- If the device requires service, contact qualified personnel. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power/display off | Power cord disconnected, power switch off, power outage. | Check power cord connection, ensure power switch is ON, verify power outlet. |
| No output voltage/current | Output switch OFF, OCP/OVP triggered, load disconnected. | Press OUTPUT button to turn ON, check OCP/OVP settings and reset if triggered, verify load connections. |
| Settings cannot be changed | Panel lock function is active. | Press the Lock button (padlock icon) to unlock the panel. |
| Unexpected beeping sound | Mute function is off, or an error/protection is active. | Press the Mute button (speaker icon) to silence. Check for OCP/OVP activation. |
