4. Setup & Installation
4.1 Important Power Connection Note
The charger included in the package must be used to connect to power in the car. The device will not work using a standard USB cable for power.
4.2 Mounting the Dash Cam
The K8 Pro is designed for rearview mirror assembly. Securely attach the dash cam to your vehicle's rearview mirror using the provided mounting accessories. Ensure the front camera has an unobstructed view of the road.
4.3 Connecting Optional Components
- Rear Camera: If your version includes a rear camera, connect it to the AV-In port on the main unit and route the cable to the rear of your vehicle. Ensure proper placement for a clear view.
- GPS Module: If your version includes a GPS module, connect it to the designated GPS port. Place the module in a location with a clear view of the sky for optimal signal reception.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
The device will automatically power on when connected to the car charger and the vehicle's ignition is turned on. It will power off automatically when the ignition is turned off.
5.2 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto
The K8 Pro supports wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless integration with your smartphone. Connect your phone wirelessly via WiFi to access navigation, music, calls, and other smartphone functions directly on the 11.3-inch screen.

5.3 GPS Navigation
When connected via CarPlay or Android Auto, you can use your phone's navigation applications to display maps and real-time traffic information in full screen on the K8 Pro's display.
5.4 Audio Output
The K8 Pro offers multiple audio output modes to connect to your car's audio system:
- SPK: Uses the device's built-in speaker.
- FM Transmitter: Transmits audio to your car's FM radio.
- AUX: Connects directly to your car's AUX input using the included AUX cable.
- Bluetooth (BT): Connects wirelessly to your car's Bluetooth system.
5.5 Mirror Link
The device supports Airplay for iOS devices and Wireless Android Mirror for Android devices, allowing you to mirror your phone's screen onto the K8 Pro display.
5.6 Video Recording
The K8 Pro features a 5K front camera for high-quality video recording. It supports loop recording, automatically overwriting older files to ensure continuous recording. The G-Sensor detects sudden impacts and locks the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten.
5.7 Rear Camera Function (Optional)
If a rear camera is installed, the system will automatically display the rear view in full screen with parking lines when the vehicle is put into reverse gear, assisting with safe parking.
5.8 App Control
Connect to the device via the dedicated app on your smartphone to view real-time footage and download recorded videos. This allows for easy sharing on social media or providing evidence for insurance purposes.
5.9 Automatic Brightness Adjustment
The K8 Pro can automatically adjust its screen brightness based on your set time preferences, ensuring optimal visibility during the day and reducing glare at night.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and camera lenses. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting
7.1 No Sound from Device
Issue: The device is powered on but produces no sound.
Solution: The K8 Pro has three audio output modes: SPK (device's own speaker), FM transmitter, and AUX. The device will only emit sound when SPK mode is selected. If FM or AUX is selected, the device will not emit sound directly. Check your audio output settings on the device's homepage (FM Settings > Select BT/FM/AUX/SPK).
7.2 CarPlay/Android Auto Compatibility
Issue: Unable to use CarPlay or Android Auto.
Solution:
- CarPlay: Requires iPhone 6 or above.
- Android Auto: Requires Android mobile system version 11 or above. Huawei phones do not support Android Auto with this device.
7.3 Time Resets After Restarting
Issue: The device's time resets after being restarted.
Solution: Open the time and date settings. First, set the correct time zone (you can search your local time zone on Google). Then, adjust the correct time and finally click "Confirm" to save the settings.
7.4 Rear Camera Mirror Effect
Issue: Need to change the mirror effect of the rear camera.
Solution: Open the settings, click on 'Rear camera Mirror', and choose to turn it on or off as desired.
7.5 GPS Module Functionality
Issue: Unsure about the function of the GPS module.
Solution: After inserting the GPS module and successfully connecting it to satellites, the DVR will display the vehicle's speed. When playing a video through a designated program on a computer, it will display speed, coordinates, and the travel map in detail. Note: This functionality requires purchasing the GPS antenna version.
7.6 Automatic Restart Issues
Issue: The device automatically restarts frequently.
Solution: Most automatic restart issues are caused by the power supply or the Micro SD card. Please try the following solutions:
- Use the car charger included in the packaging to connect to the power supply, or try using a 3A car charger.
- If step 1 does not resolve the issue, try using a different Micro SD card.
- If both steps 1 and 2 do not work, please contact customer support.
7.7 Micro SD Card Selection
Issue: How to choose a suitable Micro SD card.
Solution: For 4K resolution recording, a high-standard Micro SD card is required. Ensure your Micro SD card has the U1 and Class 10 logos on it. These indicate sufficient speed for 4K video recording.
8. User Tips
- Always use the provided car charger or a compatible 3A car charger to ensure stable power supply and prevent automatic restarts.
- For optimal 4K recording performance, use a Micro SD card that is Class 10 and U1 rated.
- When setting the time, ensure you select the correct time zone first to prevent the time from resetting.
- If you have the dual-lens version, consider adjusting the rear camera mirror effect in settings to suit your preference.
