6.2 Setting the Current Time
Use the 'NOW' setting to adjust the current time on the timer. Refer to the user manual included in your package for detailed button press sequences to set the time.
6.3 Programming Watering Schedules (Automatic Mode)
The timer allows you to set the duration and frequency of watering cycles.

Figure 10: Setting watering duration and frequency.
- Set 'HOW LONG' (Irrigation Duration): This determines how long each watering session will last. You can typically set this from 1 second up to 99 minutes.
- Set 'HOW OFTEN' (Irrigation Frequency): This determines the interval between watering sessions. You can typically set this from 1 hour up to 15 days.
- Set 'START TIME' (Irrigation Start Time): Program the specific time of day you want the automatic watering to begin.
- Use the 'OK' button to confirm settings and the '+' / '-' buttons to adjust values. The 'ESC/OFF' button can be used to exit or turn off the program.
6.4 Manual Mode
The timer supports manual watering for immediate needs.
- Press the dedicated manual watering button (often indicated by a faucet icon) to activate manual mode.
- You can typically set a duration for manual watering, or it may run until manually turned off.
- Press the button again or 'ESC/OFF' to stop manual watering.

Figure 11: Automatic vs. Manual watering modes.
6.5 Delay Function
If rain is expected or you need to temporarily pause the schedule, use the 'DELAY' function. This will postpone the next scheduled watering cycle by a set amount of time. Refer to your user manual for specific instructions on activating and setting the delay.
6.6 Lock Function
To prevent accidental changes to your programmed settings, the timer features a lock function. Look for a lock icon on the display or buttons and follow the instructions in your user manual to activate/deactivate it.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning the Filter
Periodically check and clean the removable filter located at the inlet of the timer. This prevents debris from entering the system and ensures optimal water flow. To clean, unscrew the timer from the faucet, remove the filter, rinse it under running water, and reinsert it before reattaching the timer.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace the two 'AA' alkaline batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Always use fresh alkaline batteries.
7.3 Seasonal Storage
As mentioned in the setup section, always remove the timer and drain it completely before storing it indoors during freezing temperatures (below 3°C / 37.4°F) to prevent damage.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 No Water Flow
- Check Water Supply: Ensure the faucet is fully open.
- Check Filter: A clogged filter can restrict water flow. Clean the removable filter as described in the Maintenance section.
- Check Connections: Ensure all connections are tight and the O-ring is properly seated to prevent leaks that might reduce pressure.
- Check Program: Verify that the timer is programmed to water or is in manual mode.
8.2 Timer Not Turning On/Display Blank
- Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace with fresh 'AA' alkaline batteries.
- Battery Compartment: Make sure the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
8.3 Incorrect Watering Times/Frequency
- Review Program: Double-check your 'HOW LONG', 'HOW OFTEN', and 'START TIME' settings.
- Current Time: Ensure the 'NOW' (current time) is set accurately.
- Delay Function: Check if the delay function is active, postponing the next cycle.
8.4 Leakage at Connections
- O-ring: Ensure the O-ring is present and properly seated at all connection points. Replace if damaged.
- Tighten Connections: Hand-tighten all connections firmly, but do not overtighten.
- Thread Compatibility: Verify that the faucet and hose threads are compatible with the timer's 3/4" thread.
9. User Tips
No specific user tips from reviews or Q&A were available at the time of manual creation. However, general tips for water timers include:
- Test Run: After initial setup, perform a manual watering cycle to ensure everything is connected correctly and water flows as expected.
- Monitor Soil Moisture: Periodically check your soil moisture levels to fine-tune your watering schedule. Different plants and weather conditions may require adjustments.
- Battery Check: Make it a habit to check the battery indicator regularly, especially before leaving for extended periods.
- Seasonal Adjustments: Adjust watering schedules seasonally. Plants generally need less water in cooler months and more in hotter, drier periods.
