1. Introduction
The MAIMEIMI M13 Head Up Display (HUD) is an innovative automotive accessory designed to enhance driving safety and convenience by projecting essential vehicle data directly onto your car's windshield. This allows drivers to monitor critical information without diverting their eyes from the road.
The M13 HUD supports both OBD2 and GPS systems, offering accurate and real-time display of various parameters including speed, engine RPM, water temperature, voltage, fuel consumption, driving mileage, and more. Its plug-and-play design ensures easy installation and immediate use.

2.3 Installation Steps
Follow these steps to install your M13 HUD:
- Connect to OBD Socket: Locate your vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port (usually under the dashboard on the driver's side) and plug in the provided OBD cable.
- Route the Cable: Carefully route the OBD cable along the A-pillar seal or other discreet locations to avoid obstructing your view or interfering with driving.
- Connect to HUD: Connect the other end of the OBD cable to the M13 HUD unit.
- Position the HUD: Place the HUD unit on your dashboard in a position that allows for clear projection onto the windshield without blocking your view of the road. Use the non-slip mat to secure the device.
- Apply Reflective Film (Optional but Recommended): For optimal clarity and to eliminate ghosting, apply the included reflective film to the windshield where the HUD projects. Clean the windshield thoroughly before application.

4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your M13 HUD, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the HUD unit and the reflective film. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surfaces.
- Temperature: The HUD is designed with PC material for high and low temperature resistance, allowing it to operate normally in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +80°C. However, extreme prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or freezing temperatures should be avoided when possible.
- Cable Care: Ensure the OBD cable is not pinched or excessively bent, as this can damage the wiring.

5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your M13 HUD, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| HUD does not power on or display anything. | Loose OBD connection, vehicle not compatible, or power issue. | Ensure the OBD cable is securely plugged into both the vehicle's port and the HUD. Verify vehicle compatibility (OBD2 protocol). Check vehicle's ignition status. |
| Inaccurate speed display. | Speed calibration needed. | Access the HUD's settings menu to adjust the speed calibration factor according to your vehicle's actual speed (e.g., using GPS on your phone for comparison). |
| Double image or ghosting on the windshield. | Windshield reflection without reflective film. | Apply the provided reflective film to the windshield where the HUD projects. Ensure the film is applied smoothly without air bubbles. |
| HUD does not turn off with the car. | Vehicle's OBD port provides constant power. | Some vehicles provide continuous power to the OBD port. You may need to manually turn off the HUD using its power button or unplug it if not in use for extended periods. Alternatively, check HUD settings for an auto-off delay. |
| Alarms are too loud or too quiet. | Alarm volume not set correctly. | Use the HUD's settings menu to adjust the alarm volume to your preferred level. |
