1. Introduction

3. Product Overview and Features

The PV28-CW Air Quality Detector is equipped with advanced sensors and smart features to provide comprehensive air quality monitoring:

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the device's Type-C port and plug the other end into a 5V 2A USB power adapter (not included).

4.2 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Long press the multi-function button located on the back of the device. The LCD screen will light up and begin displaying readings.
  • Power Off: Long press the multi-function button again to turn off the device.

4.3 Initial Calibration

For accurate readings, perform an initial calibration:

  1. Turn on the device and place it in a well-ventilated area for 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Press the multi-function button three times quickly to initiate manual calibration.
  3. The device will also perform an automatic calibration after 24 hours of continuous power-on.

4.4 Mobile APP Connection (Tuya APP)

To utilize the smart features and online monitoring, connect the device to the Tuya APP:

  1. Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Open the app and create an account or log in.
  3. Ensure your device's WiFi is enabled and it is in pairing mode (usually indicated by a blinking WiFi icon on the detector's screen after initial power-on).
  4. In the Tuya APP, search for nearby devices or manually add a new device (select "Air Detector" or similar from the sensor category).
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to complete the connection process.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Interface Switching

The device can switch between different display interfaces to show specific parameters:

  • Default Display: Shows CO2, PM2.5, HCHO, TVOC, Temperature, and Humidity.
  • Switching Display: Briefly press the multi-function button to toggle between the HCHO & TVOC display and the PM1.0 & PM10 display.

5.2 Automatic Brightness Control

The device features an automatic brightness control function. It will adjust the screen brightness based on the ambient light conditions to ensure readability without being overly harsh on the eyes.

5.3 Screen Sleep and Wake-up

To conserve energy, the screen can automatically enter sleep mode after a period of inactivity (default 30 seconds, customizable via APP). While the screen is off, the sensors continue to operate and transmit data to the cloud via WiFi.

  • Wake-up: Simply wave your hand in front of the device to activate the proximity sensor and wake up the screen.

5.4 APP Usage and Settings

Through the Tuya APP, you can:

  • View real-time air quality values and historical data graphs.
  • Set alarm values for PM2.5 and CO2 concentrations.
  • Toggle the alarm sound on/off.
  • Switch temperature units between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉).
  • Enable/disable the screen-off function and set the screen-off time.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation holes on the device are not blocked to maintain accurate readings and proper heat dissipation.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.
  • Battery Care: Recharge the device regularly to prolong battery life. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the device is fully charged. If the battery is low, connect it to a power source using the Type-C cable.
  • Inaccurate readings: Perform a manual calibration as described in Section 4.3. Ensure the device is placed in a stable environment away from strong air currents or direct sources of pollution.
  • APP not connecting: Verify that the device's WiFi is enabled and your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. Restart both the device and the app, then attempt to re-pair.
  • Screen not waking up: Ensure the screen sleep function is enabled in the APP settings. Wave your hand closer to the device's front panel.
