6. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Q: Why can't I use the wired mirror link function after using CarPlay/Android Auto?

A: When in PhoneLink mode, please ensure you select "Mirror" in the Auto Connect mode, not CarPlay or Auto.

Q: Why does CarPlay/Android Auto not connect?

A:

  1. Ensure the CarPlay/Android Auto function is enabled on your phone.
  2. Check that your phone's data cable is working properly. Try a different cable if necessary.
  3. Verify that the USB port on the car radio is functioning correctly. You can test this by plugging a USB disk into the port and checking if its contents can be read.

Q: USB flash disk cannot be played, or the card slot does not read the card?

A:

  1. USB flash disk: Format the USB flash disk to FAT32. Re-download one or two songs and try again. If it still doesn't work, replace the USB flash drive.
  2. SD card slot: Check whether the memory card is inserted correctly and if the plug is broken.

Q: No display of reversing video?

A:

  1. Ensure the camera cable is properly connected to the unit's head cable.
  2. This unit supports CVBS cameras. Please ensure that your camera is CVBS-compatible.

User Tips:

  • Power Cycling: If the unit unexpectedly shuts off after a short drive and won't restart, it might be a power connection issue. Ensure the ACC (ignition switch) and B+ (constant power) wires are correctly connected and receiving stable power. Sometimes, a full power cycle (turning the car off and on) can resolve temporary glitches.
  • Check Dimensions: Before purchasing, always verify the dimensions of your car's dashboard cavity. This unit is 7 inches, so ensure your car can accommodate this size.
  • Included Cables: The multimedia center typically comes with Volkswagen-specific cables, which simplifies installation for compatible VW models.
