3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Pre-installation Checklist

  • Ensure your smartphone or tablet is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access. (5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported).
  • Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  • Have your Wi-Fi password readily available.
  • Your smartphone or tablet must have access to an app store (e.g., Google Play Store, Apple App Store).
  • Your router should have MAC filtering disabled or be configured to allow new devices.

3.2 Wiring Diagram

Before connecting the device, ensure the power supply is disconnected to prevent electric shock. Follow the diagram below for correct wiring.

3.3 Device Pairing with Tuya Smart App

  1. Download the App: Search for "Tuya Smart" in your mobile app store (Google Play Store for Android, Apple App Store for iOS) and download it. Alternatively, scan the QR code provided in Figure 4.
  2. Register/Login: Register a new Tuya Smart account. If you already have one, simply log in.
  3. Reset Device (if necessary):
    • If the network indicator (red light) is already blinking fast, proceed to the next step.
    • Power on the device.
    • Hold down the 'Reset' button on the switch for 5 seconds until the network indicator (red light) blinks fast. This indicates the device has entered pairing mode.
  4. Add Device in App: Open the Tuya Smart app. Click the "+" icon in the top right corner. Wait a few seconds for the app to discover nearby devices, then click "Add" when your device appears.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network from the list and enter your Wi-Fi password.
  6. Name Your Device: Once connected, you will be prompted to name your device. Choose a descriptive name for easy identification.
  7. Bluetooth Control: If the Wi-Fi network is disconnected, the switch will automatically switch to Bluetooth control, allowing you to control it via your phone's Bluetooth.
  8. Manual Control: The physical on/off buttons on the device can also control the connected appliances. The real-time status of these manual controls will be displayed in the app.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 App Functions

Once your device is successfully added to the Tuya Smart app, tap on the device to enter its full function operation interface.

  • Remote On/Off: Control connected appliances from anywhere using the app.
  • Real-time Monitoring: View live temperature and humidity readings from the sensor.
  • Timing & Schedules: Set up countdown timers, single-event schedules, or recurring schedules to automate device operations. The switch supports up to 8 enabled scheduled tasks.
  • Auto Mode: Configure the switch to automatically turn on or off based on a specified temperature or humidity range.
  • Manual Mode: Override automatic settings to turn devices on or off instantly.
  • Smart Scenes: Use temperature or humidity values as triggers for smart scenes, allowing the switch to interact with other Tuya Smart devices.
  • Shared Control: Share control of the smart switch with family members through the app.
  • Device Management: Rename the device, set up offline notifications, create device groups, or remove the device from your account.

4.2 Data History and Settings

  • Temperature & Humidity History: Review historical temperature and humidity data by hour, day, month, or year within the app's statistics section.
  • Advanced Settings: Access settings to adjust temperature units, calibrate temperature and humidity readings, set temperature and humidity sensitivity, enable child lock, configure relay status, and set up automatic functions.

4.3 Voice Control Integration

The smart switch is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Yandex Alice. To enable voice control, link your Tuya Smart account within the respective voice assistant app (e.g., Amazon Alexa app). Once linked, you can use voice commands to control your connected devices.

  • Sensor Care: Handle the temperature/humidity sensor carefully. Avoid bending or damaging the probe.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Device not connecting to Wi-Fi:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
    • Verify the Wi-Fi password is correct.
    • Check if the device is in pairing mode (red light blinking fast). If not, reset it as per Section 3.3.
    • Ensure your router is not blocking new devices (e.g., MAC filtering).
    • Move the device closer to your Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
  • Remote control matching failure:
    • To Match: Hold the manual switch for 3 seconds until the RF indicator (blue light) turns on. Then, long-press the remote control button you wish to match. Release both buttons upon successful matching. Repeat for other buttons.
    • To Clear Code: Long-press the manual switch for 15 seconds until the RF indicator (blue light) turns off. Release the manual switch. This clears all paired remote codes.
  • Device offline in app:
    • Check your home Wi-Fi network status.
    • Restart the smart switch by cycling its power.
    • If the issue persists, try re-pairing the device with the app.
  • Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings:
    • Ensure the sensor is properly connected and not obstructed.
    • Calibrate the sensor readings in the app settings if you have a reference thermometer/hygrometer.

7. User Tips

  • Optimal Wi-Fi Placement: For best performance, place the smart switch within a good range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router.
  • Sensor Type Selection: Be aware that there are two sensor bundles: "Switch TH sensor" (temperature and humidity, -20℃~60℃) and "Switch Temp. sensor" (waterproof temperature only, -20℃~80℃). Ensure you have the correct sensor for your application.
  • Power Supply: The device supports both DC 7-32V and USB 5V input. Choose the appropriate power supply for your setup.
  • Automation Logic: Experiment with the "Auto mode" and "Smart Scenes" features in the Tuya Smart app to create sophisticated automation routines based on temperature and humidity changes.
