3. Setup and Installation

This product is designed for installation in a plastic junction box conforming to the JB/T 8593 standard, with a minimum depth of 50mm. It requires a Tuya Zigbee gateway or Matter gateway for full functionality.

3.1 Safety Precautions

  • Installation and disassembly must be performed by a professional electrician.
  • Always cut off the main power switch before installing or disassembling to prevent electric shock.
  • Keep the product away from fire and water sources.
  • Do not use in damp environments (e.g., bathrooms).
  • Ensure the mains power supply is switched off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before any installation or maintenance.

3.2 Installation Steps

  1. Turn off the main power switch and use an electroprobe to confirm that the live wire in the junction box is not electrified.
  2. Take down the back seat of the switch and install it in the junction box.
  3. Check the wiring to ensure that the copper wire is in good contact with the terminal and there is no exposed wire.
  4. Use the installation screws to fix the base inside the junction box and snap the panel back.
  5. Important: Do not screw too tightly during installation to avoid deformation or damage to the screen and hardware.

    • Check your Zigbee gateway's status and network connection.
    • Ensure the switch is within range of the gateway.
    • Try rejoining the network via the switch's settings menu (long-press any key for 10 seconds, select "Rejoin the Network").
    • If the gateway fails or is offline, the M9 Pro supports offline local use for basic switch functions.
  • Weather information not displaying:
    • Ensure your gateway's firmware version is 1.24.1 or above.
    • Verify the gateway has a stable internet connection.
  • Screen not lighting up with motion:
    • Check if "Radar Settings" is enabled in the switch's settings.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the human motion sensor.
