4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Battery Installation
The VT06 requires one 1.5V AAA battery (not included). To install:
Locate the battery compartment cover, usually at the rear of the device.
Open the compartment.
Insert one 1.5V AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
Close the battery compartment cover securely.
The device features a low battery indication on the LCD display.
4.2 Screwdriver Bit Installation/Removal
The VT06 comes with a removable induction screwdriver bit made of chrome vanadium steel, offering both slotted and Phillips heads. This allows it to function as both a voltage tester and a screwdriver.
Figure 3: Removable Induction Screwdriver Bit and Usage Steps
To remove the bit, gently twist and pull it from the tip of the tester.
To install a different bit (slotted or Phillips), align it with the opening and push it in firmly, twisting slightly if necessary to secure.

5.3 Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection
The NCV function allows for safe detection of AC voltage without direct contact.
Hold the tester near the wire or outlet.
The device will indicate voltage presence with sound and light alerts.
A weak electric field signal will result in a slow buzzer sound and a "---U" display.
A strong electric field signal will result in a quick buzzer sound and a "---HI" display.

5.4 Breakpoint Detection
This function helps locate breaks in live wires.
Place the probe along the insulated wire.
The tester will indicate the presence of voltage up to the breakpoint.
The absence of a signal indicates a break in the wire.

5.5 Wire Continuity Test
To test wire continuity:
Press the CONNECT key with your right hand.
Hold the negative terminal of the battery with your left hand.
Touch the positive terminal of the battery with the probe of the test lead.
The device will indicate continuity.

5.6 Battery Positive Detection
To quickly identify the positive terminal of a battery:
Press the CONNECT key with your right hand.
Hold the negative terminal of the battery with your left hand.
Touch the positive terminal of the battery with the probe.
If it's the positive terminal, the screen will display "P-P" and the buzzer will sound. If it's negative, there will be no reaction.
