5. Setup
5.1. Battery Installation
- Gently twist the back cover of the sensor counter-clockwise to detach it from the main body.
- Insert two LR03 AAA batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Align the back cover and twist clockwise to secure it. The indicator light on the sensor will flash.

5.2. App Pairing (Requires Zigbee Gateway)
NOTE: A Zigbee gateway (hub) is required for this sensor to function and connect to the app. Please ensure you have a compatible Zigbee gateway, purchased separately.
- Ensure your Zigbee gateway is powered on and connected to your 2.4GHz WiFi router.
- Open the MOES APP or Smart Life APP on your smartphone.
- Navigate to your gateway device within the app.
- Select "Add devices" or "Add sub-device" under the Zigbee devices list.
- The app will begin searching for nearby devices. Ensure the PIR sensor's indicator light is flashing (if not, briefly press the reset button or re-insert batteries to enter pairing mode).
- Once the sensor is discovered and added, you can rename it and assign it to a room.

5.3. Mounting
The sensor can be easily installed using the provided double-sided tape. Its flexible design allows for 360° rotation to adjust the detection angle.
- Choose a suitable location for optimal motion detection. Common placements include doorways, beside windows, in corridors, near stairs, or by the bedside.
- Clean the surface where you intend to mount the sensor.
- Peel off the protective film from the double-sided tape and firmly press the sensor's base onto the desired surface.
- Adjust the sensor's angle to cover the desired detection area.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Motion Detection and Notifications
Once installed and paired, the sensor will detect human motion within its detection range (<6m distance, <100° angle). Upon detection, a real-time notification will be sent to your smartphone via the MOES or Smart Life APP.

6.2. Scene Linkage
The sensor can be integrated into smart scenarios to automate other smart devices based on motion detection. For example:
- Convenience: If human motion is detected, automatically turn on a smart light.
- Security: If human motion is detected when you are away, trigger a smart siren alarm or activate a security camera.
You can customize these scenarios within the MOES or Smart Life APP.

6.3. History Records
The MOES APP provides a history record of motion detection events. You can view a timeline of "Motion detected" and "No one detected" statuses, along with linkage logs, to monitor your home's activity in real-time.

6.4. Motion/No Motion Detection Logic
When a person is detected, a real-time notification is sent to your mobile phone. After a period of no detection (customizable, with a minimum of 10 seconds), a "No human detected" notification will also be sent. This allows for precise automation based on presence or absence.

7. Maintenance
7.1. Battery Replacement
The sensor has a battery life of up to 360 days, but actual usage may vary. When the battery is low, you will receive a notification via the app. To replace batteries, follow the steps in Section 5.1. Battery Installation.
7.2. Cleaning
To ensure optimal performance, periodically clean the sensor lens with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
8. Troubleshooting
- Sensor not detecting motion: Check battery levels. Ensure the sensor is mounted correctly and the detection area is clear of obstructions. Verify the detection angle and distance are appropriate for the area.
- No notifications received: Ensure the sensor is properly paired with the Zigbee gateway and connected to the app. Check your app notification settings and phone's notification permissions.
- Sensor not pairing: Confirm you have a Zigbee gateway and it is online. Ensure the sensor is in pairing mode (indicator light flashing). Try re-inserting batteries or briefly pressing the reset button.
- Slow detection response: The sensor has a customizable 'no motion detected' delay, with a minimum of 10 seconds. This is by design to prevent rapid toggling. Ensure your Zigbee network is stable.
9. User Tips
- Optimize Detection Speed: While the 'no motion detected' state has a minimum 10-second delay, the initial motion detection is near-instant. For critical security applications, consider linking to a siren or camera that triggers immediately upon motion.
- Strategic Placement: Experiment with different mounting locations and angles (wall-mount for <100° wide detection, ceiling-mount for <45° conical detection) to find the best coverage for your needs.
- Battery Life Management: Regularly check battery status in the app to avoid unexpected power loss. Keep spare AAA batteries on hand.
