Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your automatic chicken coop door:
- Prepare the Opening: Confirm the desired door size and mark the location on your chicken coop. The door dimensions are approximately 14.25 inches (36.2 cm) in height and 10.82 inches (27.5 cm) in width. Ensure the opening is slightly larger than these dimensions to allow for smooth operation.
- Cut the Opening: Carefully saw off the opening for the door installation.
- Mount the Door Unit: Position the main door unit over the prepared opening. Secure the door to the coop using the 6 provided mounting screws.
- Install the Solar Panel: Connect the solar panel to the main door unit. Mount the solar panel in a location that receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day to ensure optimal charging.

Charging the Battery
The chicken coop door is equipped with a 2000mAh rechargeable battery and supports two charging methods:
- Solar Charging: The included solar panel will charge the internal battery during daylight hours. Ensure the panel is clean and unobstructed for efficient charging.
- Type-C Charging: For initial setup or if solar charging is insufficient, you can charge the battery using the provided USB Type-C cable and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The Type-C charging port is located on the control panel.

Operating Instructions
The Automatic Chicken Coop Door offers four operating modes for flexible control:

Figure 4: Overview of the four available operating modes.
Control Panel and Display
The main unit features an LCD display and control buttons for easy programming and monitoring.

Figure 5: Detailed view of the LCD display and control panel features.
- Current Local Time: Displays the current time.
- Current Sunlight Value: Shows the ambient light level detected by the sensor.
- Alarm Flashing Light: Indicates an alarm condition (e.g., anti-pinch activation, predator detection).
- Charging Indicator: Shows battery charging status.
- Light Sensor: Detects ambient light for auto-light sensor mode.
- Buzzer Hole: Emits alarm sounds.
- ON/OFF Button: Powers the unit on or off.
- Type-C Charging Port/Solar Charging Interface: Connects for charging.
- Control Buttons: Used for manual operation and mode selection (refer to on-screen prompts).
Operating Modes
You can choose from four distinct modes to control the door's opening and closing:
- Automatic Timer Mode: Set specific times for the door to open and close. For example, open at 06:00 and close at 18:00.
- Auto-Light Sensor Mode: The door opens at sunrise (when light value is 31-99) and closes at sunset (when light value is 0-30). This mode adapts to natural light conditions.
- Manual Button Control: Use the buttons on the control panel to manually open or close the door as needed.
- Remote Control: Operate the door wirelessly from a distance of up to 15 meters using the provided remote control.

Safety Features
- Anti-Pinch Protection: The built-in smart IC sensor will automatically detect if a chicken is underneath the door during closing. If detected, the door will rebound upwards by 3 cm and then attempt to close again after 10 seconds. If the obstruction persists after 3 attempts, the red alarm light will flash and an audible alarm will sound.
- Predator Defense: If an animal attempts to open the coop door, the red light will flash and an alarm will sound, deterring potential predators like foxes, raccoons, snakes, and wolves.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your chicken coop door.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the door tracks and the main unit to prevent dirt and debris buildup, which can hinder smooth operation. Use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free from dust, leaves, or snow to ensure efficient charging.
- Battery Care: While the solar panel provides continuous charging, ensure the battery is fully charged before initial use. If storing the unit for extended periods, charge the battery periodically to maintain its health.
- Weather Resistance: The door is made of durable aluminum alloy and ABS plastic, offering IPX45 waterproof rating, scratch-proof, snow protection, and heat resistance. However, extreme weather conditions may still impact performance.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Door does not open/close automatically. | Incorrect timer settings, insufficient light in auto-light sensor mode, low battery. | Check timer settings on the LCD display. Ensure solar panel is clean and receiving direct sunlight, or charge via Type-C. Verify light sensor sensitivity settings. |
| Door stops and reopens during closing (anti-pinch). | Obstruction (e.g., chicken) detected in the door path. | This is normal operation for the anti-pinch safety feature. Ensure the path is clear. If the alarm sounds after multiple attempts, manually clear the obstruction. |
| Red light flashes and alarm sounds unexpectedly. | Predator detection or persistent obstruction during closing. | Check for animals attempting to open the door. If it's during closing, refer to the anti-pinch solution above. |
| Remote control not working. | Remote battery low, out of range, or interference. | Replace remote battery. Ensure you are within 15 meters of the door. Reduce potential interference. |
| LCD display is dim or off. | Low battery. | Charge the unit via solar panel or Type-C cable. |
