1. Introduction

The Z9 Intelligent Translation Machine is a versatile device designed to break down language barriers. Featuring 4G SIM card support, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a global frequency band, it offers online translation for over 140 languages and offline translation for 19 languages. Beyond voice translation, it includes photo translation, recording translation, language learning tools, mobile group chat, simultaneous interpretation, and an integrated ChatGPT intelligent voice assistant.

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the Z9 Translation Machine using the provided Type-C data cable and a compatible power adapter (not included). The charging port is located on the device. A full charge typically takes a few hours.

3.2 Powering On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually on the side) until the screen lights up.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the power button, then select "Power Off" on the screen.

The Z9 offers flexible internet access modes:

• Wi-Fi: Connect to available 2.4G or 5G Wi-Fi networks. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, select your network, and enter the password.
• 4G SIM Card: Insert a 4G SIM card (purchased separately) into the designated slot for mobile data access. The device supports global frequency bands (WCDMA, FDD, TDD). Use the provided card needle to open the SIM tray.
• Mobile Hotspot: Share your device's internet connection with other devices.

Upon first boot-up or via settings, you can select one of the 19 supported system languages:

• Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English American, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Russian, Thai, Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese, Arabic, Polish, Mongolian, Turkish, Portuguese, Dutch, Indonesian.

3.5 Bluetooth Pairing

The Z9 has built-in Bluetooth to support connecting Bluetooth headsets for private listening during translation. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, turn on Bluetooth, and pair with your headset.

The Z9 supports both online and offline voice translation modes.

• Online Voice Translation: Supports over 140 languages. Ensure the device is connected to Wi-Fi or has an active 4G SIM card. Select the input and output languages, then press and hold the appropriate button to speak.
• Offline Voice Translation: Supports 19 languages without an internet connection. These include Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, American, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Thai, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, Vietnamese, Hindi, Indonesian, Taiwanese (Taiwanese Accent Traditional Mandarin Chinese), English (UK), Dutch. Download necessary language packs in advance via Wi-Fi.

4.2 Photo Translation

Translate text from images instantly using the built-in 1300W pixel camera.

• Online Photo Translation: Supports 56 languages. Point the camera at text (e.g., menus, signs, documents) and the device will translate it.
• Offline Photo Translation: Supports 20 languages. Download offline language packs for this feature.

4.3 Recording Translation

The Z9 can record audio and translate it into text. It supports intelligent recording translation for 13 languages. Recorded memos can be saved and transcribed, and then connected to a computer for further management.

4.4 Mobile Group Chat & Simultaneous Interpretation

Engage in cross-border and cross-language communication with the mobile group chat feature, supporting over 140 languages. The simultaneous interpretation function provides real-time bilingual subtitles, reducing the need for frequent keystrokes.

4.5 ChatGPT Intelligent Voice Assistant

Utilize the integrated ChatGPT voice assistant for various tasks, including travel planning, accessing life encyclopedia information, creating fitness plans, and assisting with writing.

4.6 Language Learning

The Z9 supports learning in 138 languages, offering speaking practice, grading after reading, simulating dialogues, and looking up words to deepen understanding. It also includes professional dictionaries with a 420W vocabulary.

4.7 Hotspot Sharing

The device can function as a mobile hotspot, providing unlimited Wi-Fi traffic for mobile phones, tablets, and laptops, which is useful for overseas travel or business.

  • Speak clearly and at a moderate pace, close to the microphone.
• Inaccurate translation: Ensure correct input and output languages are selected. Clarity of speech and image quality for photo translation can affect accuracy.
• Poor battery life: Reduce screen brightness, close unused applications, and ensure Wi-Fi/4G is turned off when not needed.
• Bluetooth pairing issues: Ensure the Bluetooth headset is in pairing mode and within range. Restart both devices if necessary.
