Setup
1. Power Supply
The Tecsun CR-1100 DSP radio can be powered by either batteries or an external DC adapter.
- Batteries: Open the battery compartment (16) on the rear of the radio. Insert four (4) D-size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
- DC Adapter: Connect a 6V DC power adapter (not included) to the DC 6V adapter jack (17) on the rear of the radio.
2. Antenna
For optimal reception, extend the telescopic antenna (11) fully when listening to FM broadcasts. For AM reception, the radio uses a built-in ferrite bar antenna, but an external FM antenna can be connected to the external FM antenna jack (19) on the rear panel for improved FM signal.
Operating Instructions
1. Turning On/Off
Press the Power On/Off button (1) to turn the radio on or off.
2. Selecting Bands
Use the Band selection button (7) to cycle through available frequency bands: FM1, FM2, and MW (AM).
3. Tuning to Stations
- Manual Tuning: Rotate the Multi-function knob (8 or 15) to manually tune to your desired frequency. The frequency will be displayed on the LCD (14).
- Automatic Tuning Storage (ATS): Press the ATS button (6) to automatically scan and store available stations in the current band. The radio will fill the memory slots (up to 100 for FM/AM).
4. Saving and Recalling Favorite Stations
The radio allows you to save up to 5 favorite stations for quick access on FM1, FM2, and MW bands.
- To Save: Tune to the desired station. Press and hold one of the Favorite station preset buttons (1-5) until the display confirms the station is saved.
- To Recall: Briefly press the corresponding Favorite station preset button (1-5) to instantly tune to the saved station.
5. Adjusting Volume
Rotate the Volume control knob (14) to increase or decrease the audio output level.
6. Using Headphones
Connect standard 3.5mm headphones to the Headphone jack (12) for private listening. The internal speaker will be muted automatically.
7. MP3 Loudspeaker Function (Line-in/Line-out)
The radio can function as an external speaker for other audio devices.
- Line-in: Connect an external audio source (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the Line In / Line Out jack (13) using the provided 3.5mm audio cable. The radio will play audio from the connected device through its speaker.
- Line-out: The same jack can also be used as a line-out to connect the radio's audio output to another amplifier or recording device.
8. Timer Functions
The radio includes auto start and shutdown timer functions. Use the Timer A (4) and Timer B (5) buttons, along with the time setting buttons (2), to configure these features. Refer to the display indicators (3, 4, 5) for timer status.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: If the radio will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.
