Setup
Battery Charging

The device uses a Li-Polymer battery with 3700mAh capacity. Charging time is approximately 6 hours.
- Using Type-C Cable: Insert the Type-C charging cable into the corresponding Type-C port on the radio and connect it to a power source (e.g., USB adapter, power bank, PC, vehicle charger).
- Using Charging Dock (Optional): Connect the power supply to an electrical outlet, and then place the radio into the charging dock. The charging dock's red light will remain steadily lit, indicating a normal power connection and that the device is charging.
Note: The charging dock is an optional accessory and may not be included with every PoC radio.
SIM Card Installation and Dual SIM Usage
The AI-8088 supports dual SIM single standby. You can use any two SIM cards registered on the platform. SIM cards are not included with the device.
- Insert SIM Cards: Carefully open the SIM card slot cover and insert your SIM cards.
- Power On: After inserting the SIM cards, power on the device.
- Configure SIM Settings: Navigate to Menu > Settings > SIM Card Management.
- In the SIM selection interface, use the Up/Down keys to select the SIM card you want to use, then press the Confirm key to connect.
Power On/Off
- Power On: Insert the battery and press and hold the Power/Volume knob for 3 seconds.
- Power Off: When the screen is on, press and hold the Power/Volume knob to bring up the prompt, then select "Power Off" or "Restart."
Operation
Volume Adjustment
When the screen is on, rotate the Power/Volume knob to adjust the volume:
- Clockwise: Increase volume.
- Counterclockwise: Decrease volume.
Screen On/Off
- On: When the screen is off, briefly press the Power/Volume knob to wake the screen.
- Off: When the screen is on, briefly press the Power/Volume knob to turn off the screen, or the screen will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity.
Main Interface Navigation
When the screen is on, use the Up/Down keys on the main interface to navigate through options such as Groups, Group Members, Dispatch Notifications, Recording, and Menu.
- Groups: In the Groups section, press the Confirm key to enter the group list. Use the Up/Down keys to select a group, then press the Confirm key to enter the selected group.
- Group Members: In the Group Members section, press the Confirm key to enter the member list. Use the Up/Down keys to select a member, then press the Confirm key to display options for Direct Call or IP Call.
- Direct Call: Press and hold the PTT button to start a direct call with the selected member. After the call, briefly press the Return key to go back to the member list.
- IP Call: Briefly press the PTT button to initiate an IP call. Once the other party answers, the call will begin. After the call, briefly press the Return key to go back to the member list.
- Dispatch Notifications: In the Dispatch Notifications section, press the Confirm key to enter the notification list.
- Recording: In the Recording section, press the Confirm key to enter the recording list. Use the Up/Down keys to select a recording, then press the Confirm key to play it.
Side Key Functions
- Side Key 1:
- Brief Press: Enters the group list and announces the current group. Use Up/Down keys to select a group, then Confirm to enter.
- Press and Hold: Hears the username and remaining battery level.
- Side Key 2:
- Brief Press: Enters the member list. Use Up/Down keys to select a member, then Confirm to display options for Direct Call or IP Call (as described above).
- Press and Hold: Enters the settings list.
Call Function (Phone Calls)
The AI-8088 supports answering and making regular phone calls using an installed SIM card.
- Making a Call:
- From Standby: Press the numeric keys to enter the phone number, then press the Dial key to make the call.
- From Menu: Go to Menu > Settings > Phone, input the phone number, and press the Dial key.
- From Contacts: Go to Menu > Settings > Contacts > Address Book, select a contact, and press the Confirm key. Choose "Direct Call" to dial the number.
- Answering/Rejecting Calls:
- To Answer: Press the Dial key.
- To End/Reject: Briefly press the Hang Up key.
- Text Input: In any text editing interface, press the # key to switch input methods.
Connectivity (Wi-Fi & Bluetooth)

- Wi-Fi:
- In the settings list, use the Up/Down keys to select Wi-Fi, then press the Confirm key to enter Wi-Fi mode.
- In the Wi-Fi settings interface, press the Confirm key to turn on Wi-Fi. You will see options for "Connected Network," "Available Networks," and "Configured Networks."
- Select an available network, enter the password, and press the Confirm key to connect.
- Bluetooth:
- In the settings list, use the Up/Down keys to select Bluetooth, then press the Confirm key to enter Bluetooth mode.
- In the Bluetooth settings interface, press the Confirm key to turn on Bluetooth. You will see options for "Discoverable," "Paired Devices," and "Available Devices."
- Select an available device and press the Confirm key to connect.
- If "Discoverable" is enabled, other devices can detect your Bluetooth device.
GPS Functionality

The built-in GPS provides accurate location tracking. The device needs to receive signals to locate your position. This feature is essential for navigation and sharing your location with others.
