5.2 If the Connection Step Fails
If the initial connection fails, follow these steps:
- Power on the camera and wait until it finishes the 10-second self-checking process.

- Delete the camera from the phone APP (if it partially connected).
- Attempt the connection process again from step 1 in section 5.1.

5.3 Use in AP Mode (Access Point Mode)
AP Mode allows your mobile phone to connect directly to the camera's hotspot (like a WiFi signal) to check real-time video and records on the MicroSD card without an internet connection. The range for AP mode is approximately 10 meters.
Note: 4G Camera models are NOT available for AP Mode.
- Power on the camera.
- Press the reset button for 4 seconds to start AP mode.
- The camera hotspot will appear for about 1 minute. The AP hotspot name will be "IPCAM..." (the part of "..." is the same as the middle part of the camera's UID).
- Connect your phone to the "IPCAM..." WiFi network. The default password is "01234567".
- In the GENBOLT CAM app, click "Add Camera" and then "Search camera from LAN". The camera UID should appear automatically.
- Confirm to add the camera.
Important: If you use AP mode, you need to turn off the "Restart timer" feature. The camera automatically restarts once a week for stable performance. If no network is connected, the camera cannot aim at the correct time and will revert to its initial time, which may affect video timestamps.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Dual Lens & Panoramic View
The camera features a dual-lens design: one fixed lens for a full view and another rotating lens for AI tracking. This allows for simultaneous monitoring in different directions and a 360° panoramic view with 355° pan and 90° tilt capabilities, eliminating blind spots.

Dual lens monitoring for comprehensive coverage.
6.2 Two-Way Audio
The built-in microphone and speakers enable two-way communication, allowing you to hear and speak through the camera via the app. This is ideal for interacting with family members or pets.

Communicate with your family using two-way audio.
6.3 Night Vision
The camera offers both IR (infrared) night vision and color night vision. With its F1.6 aperture and floodlight function, you can view clear color images even in darkness, extending up to 90ft.

Color night vision provides clear images in low light.
6.4 Humanoid/Pet Detection & Alerts
The camera features AI-powered humanoid and pet detection, triggering alarms only when human or pet movement is detected. This reduces false alerts. Notifications are pushed to your phone, and the camera can initiate active siren and light defense to deter intruders.

6.5 Customizable Siren
You can customize the siren sound to deter trespassers. Options include a standard alarm, dog barking, or a pre-recorded audio message.

6.6 Cloud Storage & Timeline Playback
The camera supports cloud storage (with a 7-day free trial) and local storage via MicroSD card. The app provides a smart timeline playback feature, allowing you to easily review footage by swiping or selecting specific dates.

6.8 Multi-Platform Viewing
The IP camera supports viewing on smartphones, tablets, and PCs (macOS, Windows, iOS, Android), providing convenient access to your surveillance feed from anywhere, anytime.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check the GENBOLT CAM app for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Power Supply: Ensure the camera is connected to a stable power source.
- Network Connection: Maintain a strong and stable WiFi connection for uninterrupted surveillance.
- Storage Management: If using a MicroSD card, periodically check its status and clear old recordings if necessary to prevent storage full issues.
8. Troubleshooting (Q&A)
- Q: Why isn't the time displayed on screen correct? Any effect?
- A: The default time area is GMT+8. Please sync with your phone's time or select your local time zone and save. Ensure your mobile phone time is set to 24H format. Time differences can cause video file errors.
- Q: Too many useless motion detection alerts?
- A: There are two ways to adjust this:
- Turn on Humanoid Alarm; this function is only triggered by human movement.
- Set the motion detection area and adjust the motion sensitivity level in the app.
- Q: Why are there no recordings when events happen?
- A: There are three different recording methods: 1. Recording schedule; 2. Motion detection recording; 3. Both at the same time. Check which recording mode you have set. Also, ensure the camera's time is synchronized with your phone's time, as videos are saved with the camera's timestamp.
- Q: I have a dual-band router (2.4GHz and 5GHz), will this work?
- A: First, confirm if your camera supports 2.4GHz or both 2.4GHz & 5GHz. If it only supports 2.4GHz, connect to the 2.4GHz WiFi signal. If it supports both, you can connect to either. However, if a 2.4GHz-only camera is connected to a 5GHz network, it will go offline if you unplug the LAN cable from the WiFi router.
- Q: If I changed my router and cannot connect the camera?
- A: Please make the new router's network name (SSID) and password the same as your old router. The camera should then reconnect automatically.
9. User Tips
- For accurate video timestamps and to avoid file errors, always ensure your camera's time is synchronized with your phone's time, and your phone uses a 24-hour format.
- To minimize unwanted alerts, fine-tune the motion detection area and sensitivity settings within the app. Consider using the Humanoid Alarm feature if you only want alerts for people.
- If you plan to use the camera in AP (Access Point) mode without a constant internet connection, remember to disable the "Restart timer" feature in the settings. Be aware that without network access, the camera's internal clock may drift.
- When upgrading your home network or replacing your router, setting the new router's WiFi name (SSID) and password to match your previous router can help the camera reconnect automatically without needing a full re-setup.
